All Branches OPEN for in-person service - Library Hours 

  • All branches will be closed on Statutory Holidays.  Cobourg Library closed Sundays - Canada Day to Labour Day.

  • All branches will be closed December 24, 25, 26, 31 & January 1

Our online resources are available 24/7 and can be accessed remotely using your library card.

You may be required to Login to some of these sites. You will need to enter your Library Card # (without spaces), and if asked for a PIN#, enter the last 4-digits of your phone number.

CBC Kids Corner

  • CBC Corner has tons of safe, educational and entertaining content for children and youth of all ages including tv shows, free online games, fun quizzes and activities as well as news articles made by kids for kids.
  • As a parent, you will also find cool and simple crafts ideas, healthy recipes, and easy ways to learn through play!

Frontier Life

  • A digital collection of primary sources including material from the Hudson Bay Archives and the Glenbow Archives.
  • It is designed to enrich teaching and research, examining settlement, existence and interactions at the edge of the Anglophone world from 1650-1920.

  • A kid-safe, advertisement-free, media platform that is easily accessible, providing educational content with a focus on early literacy to the early learner.  
  • These videos are sure to entertain, educate and inspire young patrons.

Holiday Movie Night - Gores Landing Branch - Friday, December 1st - 6:30 p.m.

  • Join us at the Gores Landing Hall for a free family movie night and holiday activity.

  • No registration required. Parents are asked to stay.

Family Storytime with the Cobourg Cougars - Cobourg - Thursday, December 7th - 10:30 a.m. - Rotary Room

  • A special storytime at the Cobourg Public Library with Cobourg Cougars hockey players. Listen to hockey themed stories, songs, rhymes, and try some mini stick hockey.
  • Families welcome. Drop-in Program.

Family Storytime – Cobourg - Thursdays - 10:30 a.m. - Rotary Room

  • Join Rachael for stories, songs, rhymes, and more! A great program for school readiness and meeting other families in our community.

Winter Book Cover Scavenger Hunt - All Locations - December 27th to January 7th

  • Visit any library branch to search for the 12 winter book covers hidden in the Youth Services Department. Find them all and win a small prize.

Winter Festival at the Library - Cobourg - Saturday, December 2nd - 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

  • Join us in the Rotary Room for winter themed craft stations, games, hot chocolate (while supplies last), seasonal treats and an appearance from your Cobourg Cougars. Everyone is welcome.
  • In partnership with Experience Cobourg

Explore our Bookmark Tree!

  • For the entire month of December, embrace the season with our collection of free delightful bookmarks located on the second-floor tree.

Bewdley Branch Holiday Event - Bewdley - Saturday, December 2nd - 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

  • The Bewdley Branch will be opening early for some seasonal fun!
  • Join library staff for a mini-book sale, as well as a Christmas craft.
  • Families Welcome. Drop-in Program.

Breakfast & Books at the Harwood Hall - Saturday, December 2nd

  • Visit us at the Harwood Hall's monthly pancake breakfast!
  • We'll have activities for the kids as well as a great selection of items for you to check out.
  • This breakfast will also feature a visit by Santa!

Tech Buddies Drop-In - Cobourg - December 5th, 6th & 7th - 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

  • Tech troubles? Trinity College students are here to assist!
  • Drop-in for assistance with your social media accounts, device setup and more.
  • Kindly note that there may be a bit of a wait depending on the volume of interest.
  • Remember to bring the tech you need help with!

Holiday Makers Market - Cobourg - Saturday, December 9th - 10am to 4pm

  • Join Lakehouse Candles and friends at the Holiday Market in the Rotary Room.
  • We will have books for sale by donation, so you set the price.  We look forward to seeing you there!

Northumberland Community Paramedicine Program - Cobourg - Thursday, December 28th - 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
