    New Experience Cobourg Walking Tours Begin

    The Town of Cobourg’s Marketing and Events Department is pleased to announce a new partnership with the Cobourg Museum Foundation and Marie Dressler Foundation that will offer free Experience Cobourg Walking Tours to both citizens and tourists during the months of July and August. The first tour will take place on Wednesday, July 10th in front of Victoria Hall at 1 p.m.

    The Town of Cobourg Encourages Residents to Use ‘Cooling Centres’

    The following public places as cooling centres: 

    • Victoria Hall Lobby (55 King Street West) Open: Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Closed weekends.
    • Cobourg Community Centre (750 D’Arcy Street) Open: Mon-Thurs 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Closed on long weekends.
    • Northumberland Mall (1111 Elgin Street West) Open: Mon-Fri 9:30 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturday 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
    • Cobourg Police Service Lobby (107 King Street) Open 7/week, all hours of the day/night. Unlimited water available.
    • Cobourg Public Library (200 Ontario Street) Open: Monday to Wednesday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday to Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Closed Sundays in the summer.

  • Signal Timing Changes

    Infected Ash Trees to be Removed from Cobourg 

    The Town of Cobourg will be removing and replacing infected Ash trees (Fraxinus spp) as part of its ongoing Emerald Ash Borer Preparedness Plan beginning this spring and summer. 

    Trees that have been removed through the program will be replaced on a one-to-one basis after taking into consideration site conditions and species diversity for the neighbourhood.

  • New Poet Laureate

    Congratulations to our 4th Poet Laureate, Jessica Outram!

    A Special Meeting of Cobourg Municipal Council was held on Monday, June 24th at 4:30 p.m. to announce the Town’s new Poet Laureate, Jessica Outram, who will be the fourth Poet Laureate for the Town.

    “You are splinters of the sun, you are worth celebrating, you are worth elevating,” recited Jessica Outram, Poet Laureate for The Town of Cobourg. “Becoming Cobourg’s fourth Poet Laureate has become very surreal to me. I feel honoured to share this connection with past Poet Laureates and all of you. Thank you to the nominating committee for having faith in me.”

    Country Wild Music Festival at Cobourg Community Centre

     The Town of Cobourg is pleased to announce a new partnership with the Country Wild Music Festival that will bring the music event to the Cobourg Community Centre on July 20th. 


    Enjoy Country artists from across North America, a wild kick-off party, and Southern-style cuisine.
