  • Traffic Light Maintenance

    Traffic Light Maintenance - Please Exercise Caution

    On Monday, June 24 and Tuesday, June 25 The Town of Cobourg's traffic light maintenance contractor, Black & McDonald, will be upgrading traffic lights.


    The light upgrades are at the intersection of King Street West and Ontario Street/William Street. During the upgrade there may be periods where no lights are in operation at the intersection. In this case a police officer will be present to direct traffic. 

    We ask that all drivers and pedestrians please be alert and use caution while using the intersection on June 24 and 25. 

  • Boardwalk Closure

    Boardwalk Closed Due to Flooding - Please Exercise Caution

    Today the Town of Cobourg has decided to close the boardwalk from Hibernia Street to Ontario Street. Water levels continue to be higher than normal and this has caused flooding onto the boardwalk. 

    There will be no access to the boardwalk from Hibernia Street, Durham Street, Bagot Street, or Ontario Street. 

    Please refrain from using the flooded portions of the boardwalk.  

     

  • Emergency Training Exercise

    Emergency Training Exercise

    The Town of Cobourg's Emergency Management Planner will be holding the annual emergency training exercise on Friday, June 21, 2019 from approximately 1-4 p.m. at the Cobourg Beach. 

    Residents are likely to see role playing and similuated response elements on the beach and in the water. There is no need to call 9-1-1 to report the training exercise as this will result in fewer lines open for real emergencies.

  • Caution against stagnant pools

    Exercise Caution Around Stagnant Pools of Water

    The Town of Cobourg and the Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit are advising residents against entering the stagnant pools of water on Cobourg Beach. 

    Stagnant bodies of water are breeding areas for bacteria like E. Coli which can lead to various ailments and illnesses.

  • Signal Timing Changes

    Infected Ash Trees to be Removed from Cobourg 

    The Town of Cobourg will be removing and replacing infected Ash trees (Fraxinus spp) as part of its ongoing Emerald Ash Borer Preparedness Plan beginning this spring and summer. 

    Trees that have been removed through the program will be replaced on a one-to-one basis after taking into consideration site conditions and species diversity for the neighbourhood.
