Chess Club

Dates: Tuesdays - 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m
*No chess on July 7th, 28th or Aug. 11th - participants are welcome to use our outdoor chess tables.
Location: Cobourg Rotary Room
A drop-in space for chess enthusiasts of all skill levels. Whether you are a beginner looking to learn the basics or a seasoned player seeking a challenge, all are welcome to play.

Bewdley Adult Book Club

Date/Time: Wednesday, July 8th at 6:30 p.m.
Location: Bewdley Branch
Registration: Registration is currently full

Teen Summer Reading Challenge

Ages 13 to 17
Dates: June 29th to August 22nd.

Read books to win monthly prizes!
Receive a stamp for every library item you check out.

Teen Candy Mosaics

Unleash your inner artist by using an assortment of colorful treats to craft unique, edible masterpieces.

Teen Scratch Art Bookmarks

Date: July 20th to July 25th (During Library Hours)
Location: Teen Area - All Library Locations
Visit the Teen Area to design your own custom bookmark using scratch art.
Supplies are provided—just bring your creativity! Available while supplies last.

Teen Book Bedazzling

Date: Thursday, July 30th
Time: 2:00 p.m.
Location: Rotary Room Cobourg
Registration: Register online to attend (opens July 2nd at 10:00 a.m.)
Give your favorite stories a glow-up! Bring a paperback from home or use one of ours and use embellishments to create a one-of-a-kind masterpiece.

Chess Club

A parent or caregiver must stay in the room to supervise children.

Cobourg Family Storytime

Dates: Thursdays
Time: 10:30 a.m.
Location: Cobourg Rotary Room
An interactive program designed for children (ages 0–6) and their caregivers.
Join us for stories, songs, and rhymes that help build early literacy skills and school readiness.
July 9th - Visit from the St. John Ambulance Therapy Dogs.
July 23rd and August 13th - Family Storytime Visits the Cobourg Ecology Garden (107 Hibernia St., Cobourg)

Bewdley Family Storytime

Dates: Fridays
Time: 10:00 a.m.
Location: Bewdley Branch
Similar to the Cobourg sessions, this program brings stories and songs to the Bewdley branch.

Visit your library and register for the TD Summer Reading Club!
You can read any library book at your reading level and report back to library staff with an oral, picture, or written report. Each book report gives you a chance to win our end of summer prizes!

There are 12 hidden images in the Youth Area. Win a prize if you locate them all. Families welcome.

Family Storytime with St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog Program

Date/Time: July 9th at 10:30 a.m. (Cobourg) / July 10 at 10:00 a.m. (Bewdley)
Location: Cobourg Branch & Bewdley Branch
Join us for a storytime all about dogs with special guests from the St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog Program. Tail-wagging fun for ages 0 to 6!

Under the Sea Party

Date/Time: Thursday, July 9th at 2:00 p.m.

Join us for a craft, water-themed activities and fun! Families welcome.

Paper Jellyfish Craft Station

Date/Time: July 13th to July 18th (During Library Hours)
Location: All Library Locations
Bring a splash of creativity and visit the Library to craft your very own paper jellyfish.
Perfect for makers of all ages, all supplies included.

TD Summer Reading Club StoryWalk®

Date/Time: July 13th to July 18th - Cobourg Library

Enjoy reading a bilingual story outside as you stroll along from one page to the next! This year we're featuring 'Colette the Solitary Bee'.

Family Summer Movie Afternoon

Date/Time: Wednesday, July 15th at 2:00 p.m.

Join us for the film GOAT (Rated PG). Popcorn will be provided while supplies last. Families welcome.

Bewdley Family Summer Movie Afternoons

Date/Time: July 18th & August 15th at 1:00 p.m.
Location: Bewdley Branch
Movie: The SpongeBob Movie: the search for SquarePants (Rated PG).
Join us for a free family movie. Popcorn will be provided while supplies last.
A great way to spend a Saturday afternoon together.

Pirate Ship Craft Station

Date/Time: July 20th to July 25th (During Library Hours)
Location: All Library Branches
Make paper plate pirate ships to set sail on a high-seas adventure!
Transform simple materials into a vessel ready for buried treasure.

Learn About Pollinators with Kelsey from Cold Springs Flower Farm

Date/Time: July 22nd, 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Location: Cold Springs Branch
Learn all about pollinators with Kelsey from Cold Springs Flower Farm.
This informative session is geared toward children aged 5 to 12.

Cobourg Family Storytime Visits the Cobourg Ecology Garden

Date/Time: July 23rd & August 13th at 10:30 a.m.

Paper Octopus Craft Station

Date/Time: July 27th to August 1st - During Library Hours
Location: All Library Locations
This craft is octo-fully adorable!
Visit the Library to make one of the most interesting deep-sea creatures.

The library will be closed in observation of Canada Day.

Breakfast and Books at Harwood Hall

Date/Time: Saturday, July 4th, 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Location: Harwood Hall (5453 Front St., Harwood)
We'll have activities for the kids and a great selection of items you can check out after you enjoy a delicious pancake breakfast.

Bake Sale Donation Drop Off

Date/Time: Tuesday, July 7th, 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Location: Rotary Room Cobourg
We're looking for home bakers who are willing to donate any and all baked goods to our annual fundraiser - our Book and Bake Sale - happening Wednesday, July 8th 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Book & Bake Sale

Date/Time: Wednesday, July 8th, 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Location: Rotary Room Cobourg
Join us for our annual fundraising event! Books are all 'donate what you can' so you set the price.
Baked goods will be priced individually and are donated by generous local bakers and businesses (shoutout to Baxter's Bakery!).
Special Guests, Short Order Poetry Collective, will be creating typewritten poems on-the-spot! First-come-first-serve.

Cobourg Farmers Market Outreach & Storytime

Join us on Saturday, July 11th at the Cobourg Farmers Market between 9:30 a.m. and 12:0 p.m. 
You can sign up for a card or find out what's going on at the library this summer!
We'll also have a Family Storytime in the oval at 10:30 a.m.

Scientists in School Presents: Ride and Roll with Science

Welcome to the amusement park - where we'll be bumping, spinning, zipping and rolling! Discover actions and reactions of bumper cars. Explore the forces at work while you spin. Create a zipline while investigating gravity. Design a roller coaster to meet a challenge. It's all about the physics of riding n' rolling! 

TD Summer Reading Club Kick-Off Parties

Description: Celebrate the start of the kids' summer reading season! Join us for a party to register for the club, pick up your reading notebooks, and enjoy fun activities to get the summer started.

Underwater Trivia

Youth are invited to test their knowledge of the wonders that lie below the surface. A new question will be posted each day in the library and through our social media accounts. Families welcome.

Cobourg Farmers Market Outreach

Visit our booth to sign up for a Library card! There will be a Family Storytime held at 10:30 a.m. too.

Cobourg DBIA PRIDE Event

Saturday, June 20th, 2026  |  10am to 1pm
Join us at the annual Cobourg Downtown Business Initiative Association Pride Event. We'll be hosting a table with grab and go items and celebrating diversity and inclusion in our community.
