TEEN PROGRAMS

Teen Hangout - Cobourg Public Library

Cobourg Public Library - Rotary Room (200 Ontario Street)
Wednesday, September 23rd — 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Drop-in Program (Teens Welcome)
Bring your friends to a dedicated space for teens only. Hang out, meet new people, play a board game or a Nintendo Switch game on the big screen, participate in an activity, or enjoy the free WIFI. Join for us to make your own ramen noodles! While Supplies Last.

Chess Club - Cobourg Public Library

Dates: Every Tuesday 
Time: 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM
Location: Cobourg Rotary Room
Description: A drop-in space for chess enthusiasts of all skill levels. Whether you are a beginner looking to learn the basics or a seasoned player seeking a challenge, all are welcome to play.
No club on October 20th.

Boomers - Cobourg Public Library

Fridays at 10:30 a.m.
Drop-in (Ages 55+)
Learn. Connect. Belong. A program designed for ages 55+ featuring a variety of guest speakers and interactive sessions each week
Doors open at 10:00 a.m. to enjoy refreshments and chat before the program begins at 10:30 a.m.
Boomers will not meet on Oct 2nd, 9th or 23rd.

Adult Craft Night: Cricut Mug DIY - Bewdley Branch

Wednesday, September 16th at 6:00 p.m.
Registration required (Space is limited; registration starts Tuesday, September 1st at 10:00 a.m.)
Cricut Mug DIY. No experience necessary. All materials required will be provided. We will be choosing a design to put on a mug. Tools and Cricut designs will be supplied.

Great Sports Debate Series: 2026/2027 NHL Season Predictions

Cobourg Public Library - Rotary Room (200 Ontario Street)
Monday, September 21st at 6:30 p.m.

Hockey season is just around the corner. It is time to predict how this upcoming NHL season will shape out. Who leads each division? Will the Hurricanes repeat as Stanley Cup Champions? Is there a hope for a Canadian team bringing back the cup? Enjoy an evening of hockey talk with some refreshments. Our predictions will be posted on social media. Adults welcome.

Description: Similar to the Cobourg sessions, this program brings stories and songs to the Bewdley branch.

3D Floating Ship Craft Take & Make Kit

Stop by the Library and pick up your kit to make a floating ship craft. Each kit contains the materials to create one craft.

Popsicle Stick Crayon Photo Frame Craft

September 8th to September 13th (During Library Hours)
Drop-in Program
Kick off the new school year by visiting the library for a fun and creative craft. Make your own popsicle stick crayon photo frame. This hands-on project is the perfect way to display your first-day-of-school photo. Families welcome.

Mother Goose Program

Cobourg Public Library - Rotary Room
Begins Monday, September 14th at 10:30 a.m. (10-week program)
Online registration required (Begins Tuesday, September 1st at 10:00 a.m.)
Join us for an hour of rhymes, songs, and oral stories that are perfect for bonding with your baby in this 10-week program. Designed for Parent/Guardian & Child (Aged 0–24 months).
No program Oct. 12th or 26th.

Home Alone Course 

Cobourg Public Library - Rotary Room (200 Ontario Street)
Saturday, September 26th - 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
This free course will provide youth 10-14 years of age with the skills and knowledge that will assist them in being confident about staying home alone.  Through interactive games and activities, participants will learn about how to stay safe in various situations and what to do in case of an emergency.
Course provided by Community Health Centres of Northumberland.

Cobourg Farmers' Market Outreach & Storytime

Visit our booth at the Cobourg Farmers' Market from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for something fun to learn or create. Bring your own chair to our Community Storytime led by Rachael at 10:30 a.m.

Socktober Sock Donation Drive

All Library locations
For the entirety of October 2026
Drop-in / Drop off (No registration required)
We're collecting NEW, UNUSED socks (for all ages) for those in need in our community. Donations support the Salvation Army, Transition House, and The Rose Quest. Drop off NEW socks at ALL Library locations.

Description: Our annual summer challenges encourage readers of all ages to track their progress and discover new books for a chance to win prizes. This is the final month!  Pick up your Bingo card at your nearest branch, or print the August Bingo Card.

Teen Summer Reading Challenge

Ages 13-17
Dates: Teen challenge ends August 22nd.
Location: All Branches
Description: Read books to win monthly prizes! Receive a stamp for every library item you check lout. Fill a challenge card with 8 stamps and be entered into the monthly prize draws.

Teen Rubber Duck Decorating Contest

August 1st to August 15th
Cobourg Public Library - During Library Hours
Pick up a rubber duck at the main desk at the CPL to decorate at home. return it before Saturday, August 15th at 5:00 pm. to be entered into the contest. Voting will take place in-library and virtually from Monday, August 17th to Saturday, August 22nd.  The winner will receive a teen prize pack. Contest is open to ages 12-17. Rubber ducks available while supplies last. Winner will be announced Monday, August 24th. 

Teen Keychain Workshop

Tuesday, August 11th at 3:00 p.m. 
Teens, join us for an hour of creative fun and express your personal style by crafting your own custom key chain! We will provide the supplies, so bring your imagination and get ready to design a unique piece that can attach onto your bag, keys or accessories.
