Monday Movies

Chess Club

Dates: June 2, 9, 16 (Note: No Chess on June 23 or 30)
Time: 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM
Location: Cobourg Rotary Room
Description: A drop-in space for chess enthusiasts of all skill levels. Whether you are a beginner looking to learn the basics or a seasoned player seeking a challenge, all are welcome to play.

Boomers

Dates: June 5, 12, 19 (Last session until September)
Time: 10:00 AM 
Location: Cobourg Rotary Room
Description: A social and educational drop-in program specifically for those aged 55+. Each session typically features light refreshments and a guest speaker or activity focused on health, community, or lifelong learning.

Bewdley Book Club (Registration Full)

Bewdley Branch Adult Craft Night

Adult Summer Reading Challenge

Dates: Running throughout June and into August
Location: All Branches
Description: Our annual summer challenges encourage readers of all ages to track their progress and discover new books for a chance to win prizes. The Adult challenge begins June 1st.

Teen Summer Reading Challenge

Ages 13-17
Dates: Teen challenge officially kicks off June 29th and ends August 22nd.
Location: All Branches
Description: Read books to win monthly prizes! Receive a stamp for every library item you check lout. Fill a challenge card with 8 stamps and be entered into the monthly prize draws.

Cobourg Family Storytime

Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. in the Cobourg Public Library Rotary Room. Join us this spring for stories, songs, and rhymes. A great program for school readiness and meeting other families in our community. 

Take & Make Kits - Hamilton Township Branches

Campfire Lacing Craft
Available Starting June 2nd at the Bewdley, Gores Landing and Cold Springs Branches
Stop by during Branch Hours and pick up your kit to make this campfire lacing craft. Each kit contains the materials to create one campfire craft. While supplies last. 

P.A. Day Fun: LEGO Extravaganza

Friday, June 5th - BEWDLEY BRANCH
Join us for a morning of creativity and entertainment! Children will enjoy hands-on building with LEGO, while a movie plays in the background. A perfect blend of creativity and comfort packed into one exciting morning for LEGO fans. Families welcome. Drop-in program. MOVIE: The Lego Batman Movie (Rated G)

Scientists in School Presents: Ride and Roll with Science

Friday, June 5th at 2pm
Cobourg Public Library Rotary Room
Ages 4-12
Register to attend starting Monday, June 1st at 10:00 a.m.
Partnership with Kawartha Financial Credit Union
Welcome to the amusement park - where we'll be bumping, spinning, zipping and rolling! Discover actions and reactions of bumper cars. Explore the forces at work while you spin. Create a zipline while investigating gravity. Design a roller coaster to meet a challenge. It's all about the physics of riding n' rolling! 

TD Summer Reading Club Kick-Off Parties

Date: June 26
Times: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM (Bewdley) & 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM (Cobourg)
Description: Celebrate the start of the kids' summer reading season! Join us for a party to register for the club, pick up your reading notebooks, and enjoy fun activities to get the summer started.

Underwater Trivia

All Library Branches and Virtually @CobourgPL
June 29th to July 4th
Youth are invited to test their knowledge of the wonders that lie below the surface. A new question will be posted each day in the library and through our social media accounts. Families welcome.

 

Breakfast & Books at Harwood Hall

Saturday June 6th from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
We'll have activities for the kids and a great selection of items you can check out after you enjoy a delicious pancake breakfast.

Cobourg Farmers Market Outreach

Saturday, June 13th 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Visit our booth to sign up for a Library card! There will be a Family Storytime held at 10:30 a.m. too.

Cobourg DBIA PRIDE Event

Saturday, June 20th, 2026
10am to 1pm
Join us at the annual Cobourg Downtown Business Initiative Association Pride Event. We'll be hosting a table with grab and go items and celebrating diversity and inclusion in our community.

Do you bake?

Help make our Book & Bake Sale a sweet success! If you're in a position to support the Library with a batch of your favourite treats, we'd love to have them! All sweets support the library.
Drop-off date - July 7th between 11am and 6pm 
Location: Rotary Room, Cobourg
Items must be individually wrapped and left unpriced.

Bug Magnet Take and Make Kits

Cobourg Family Storytime

Chess Club

Date: Tuesdays

Who is Welcome: All ages and skill levels
What to Expect: Games of chess with volunteer leads Conor and Lev and boards and pieces are provided.  Drop-in program.

Tech Buddies

Date: Tuesdays - May 5th and May 12th 
Time: Sign in at 4:00 p.m. and students arrive at 4:15 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. 
Location: Rotary Room at Cobourg Public Library 
Who is Welcome: People seeking help with devices 
What to Expect: Hands-on help with devices provided by Trinity College School volunteers.  Drop-in program.

Cobourg Library at the Cobourg Farmers Market

Date: Saturday, May 9th 
Time: 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with Storytime at 10:30 a.m. 
Location: Cobourg Farmers Market Kids Zone (35 Albert Street - Rotary Harbourfront Park)
Who is Welcome: General public 
What to Expect: Visit the library booth to learn about services and join Rachael for outdoor stories.  Bring your own chair or blanket.
Special Guests "Custom Poetry For You" - Short Order Poetry Collective provides custom poems typed on the spot.  First come, first served. 

Spring Market

Date: Saturday, May 23rd Time: 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. 
Location: Rotary Room at Cobourg Public Library
Who is Welcome: General public 
What to Expect: A market featuring local creators including pottery, wood decor, candles, and clothing.  Free admission.
