Researching Your Family and History of the Local Area
Our Local History Room has over 1,400 reference books on the history of the local area and the families that lived here. These include cemetery records, historical atlases, high school yearbooks, histories of the various towns and townships of the area, and over 200 family histories. You will find indexes to the local newspaper (available on microfilm), indexes to the Census and Assessment records, and many other resources.
There are an additional 140+ items to help you with general genealogy research and research outside of our local area.
Our Microfilm collection includes the local newspaper back to 1831, Census and Assessment records (back to the early 1800's), Telephone Directories, Church Records some local Tweedsmuir Histories.
We have two digital microfilm reader/printers available for the public.
