Scheduled Water Service Disruption - King Street West

Reconstruction project progressing on schedule

Cobourg, ON (July 17, 2026) – The Town of Cobourg's Public Works and Engineering Division has notified affected residents of a scheduled water service disruption due to construction on July 21, 2026.

The disruption is part of the King Street West Reconstruction Project taking place between William Street to Cobourg Brook. Portions of the municipal water distribution system will need to be temporarily isolated between approximately 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on July 21 to connect the newly installed watermain.

Most properties will continue to receive water service throughout the work. However, residents within the affected area, as identified on the map below in the King Street West/Pebble Beach Drive and surrounding roads, may experience reduced water pressure or temporary interruptions to their water service while work is underway. The water service notice delivered affected residents includes further details.

Should weather or other unforeseen circumstances prevent the work from proceeding on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, it will be rescheduled for Wednesday, July 22, 2026.

King Street West Reconstruction Project Update

The King Street West Reconstruction Project (from the Cobourg Creek bridge to William/Ontario Street) continues to progress well and remains on schedule and on budget.

Crews have successfully completed the installation of the new watermain, with the final connection to the existing water distribution system scheduled for July 21, 2026. Installation of the new storm and sanitary sewer infrastructure is now underway as work advances into the next phase of the project.

The Town of Cobourg appreciates the continued patience and understanding of residents, businesses, and motorists as construction progresses toward the later stages of this important infrastructure upgrade.
