2026 Civic Holiday Weekend Municipal Closures

Cobourg, ON (July 29, 2026) – The Town of Cobourg would like to advise residents of municipal building hours and closures over the 2026 Civic Holiday long weekend.

Town of Cobourg municipal offices and buildings, including Victoria Hall, the Cobourg Community Centre, the Cobourg Public Library, Public Works Building 7, and the Venture13 Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre will be closed on Monday, August 3, 2026.

Municipal building long weekend hours of operation:

  • Cobourg Community Centre (750 D'Arcy Street)
    • Open Saturday, August 1: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
    • Open Sunday, August 2: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Cobourg Public Library (200 Ontario Street)
    • Open Saturday, August 1: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Venture13 Innovation & Entrepreneurship Centre (739 D’Arcy Street)
    • Closed Monday, August 3 (open to Venture Zone members)
  • Victoria Hall (55 King Street West)
    • Building and Art Gallery of Northumberland open on Saturday, August 1: 12 to 4 p.m.
    • Building and Art Gallery of Northumberland open on Sunday, August 2: 12 to 4 p.m.

Cobourg Transit will be running its regular hours of operation on the Civic Holiday.

The Town of Cobourg wishes all residents and visitors a safe and happy long weekend.

Cobourg Farmers’ Market
Saturday, August 1, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. | Rotary Harbourfront Park
The Cobourg Farmers’ Market is where you meet your neighbours and friends, purchase excellent local produce and meats, try wonderful baked goods and take home some local crafts and ready-to-eat specialties. Browse the stalls, enjoy samples, discover new tastes and soak up the lively atmosphere.

North American 8 Metre Sailing Championship
Thursday, July 30 - Sunday, August 2 | Cobourg Yacht Club
The Cobourg Yacht Club, at 100 Hibernia Street west of the Marina, is hosting the 2026 North American 8 Metre Class Championship. Registration and a welcome dinner take place on July 31, and the club folds its own birthday into the celebration with a chicken BBQ dinner on August 1. James Cockburn Day

The Concert Band of Cobourg

The Concert Band of Cobourg performs free concerts every Tuesday evening during July and August at the Victoria Park bandshell. Bring your lawn chair for an evening of live music, featuring marches, show tunes, traditional pieces, and everything in between.

Cobourg Sandcastle Festival

This annual celebration of creativity, community, and waterfront fun will transform Cobourg’s shoreline into a showcase of incredible sand sculptures, family activities, entertainment, and unique summer experiences.
