Things to know for your first day at Camp! |
If this is your first time with us, Welcome, and if you’ve been with us for a while – Welcome Back!
Here’s a couple things that will help us get your week started off great!
- Please bring completed forms with you on your first day of camp – Camper Information Form (Pick up permission), Medical Information Form (all attachments listed below, and are available at CCC Reception if you are unable to print them out at home). - Drop off and Pick Up will be at the Tents at the North end of the CCC our regular camp day hours are 9:00am to 4:00pm. If it is a rainy day, please enter the building from the North End doors (right near our tent) and come into the Gym for Check in. - Extended Care is available as part of your camp fees, for all Campers, beginning at 7:30am daily, and available until 5:30pm. Please fill out the Extended Care Form (available at the check in table when you arrive) if you wish to participate in this option, so we can ensure we are properly staffed. And yes, you are welcome to ‘show up’ to use this option on Monday morning. - Skating days and special items are noted below for each week on the Backpack Pack List.
Don’t forget; -All snacks and lunches MUST BE PEANUT/NUT FREE. -ONLY Adults who are listed on your Permission for Pick Up Forms will be allowed to pick up children from camp. -All Adults MUST be prepared to show Photo ID to camp staff upon arrival. **Camp Staff may be different at check in and check out. -Check your backpack list each day to make sure you have everything…we’ll do our best to remind you too! -Occasionally we offer Canteen Popcorn (freshly popped!) and Mr. Freezies or Ice Pops to our Campers. If you do not wish for your camper to have these snacks, please note that on our Snack question on the Camper Information Form.
Please make sure you have the following with you on your first day of camp; -Pick Up/Permission Form (all on one sheet) -Medical Information Form (if Applicable) -Extended Care Form (if Applicable - available at Check In) -Your PACKED Backpack!

Backpack Pack List & Skating Day Information |
Everyday, the following should be packed in your Backpack for a fun filled day of camp! - Running Shoes - Re-fillable Water Bottle - Sunscreen & Hat - Change of Clothes (Just in Case) - Peanut Free Lunch and Snacks for the day
Skating Bag (only bring on your skating day) - Skates - Hockey Helmet (face mask recommended), bicycle helmets are not acceptable. - Warm clothes and mittens - Skating Aids are allowed if needed (Camp does not provide them) - Hockey Sticks are NOT permitted
If you don't have any of these items and would like to try skating, let our staff know and we will do our best to help find/borrow items if we can. Skating during day camp is completely optional - children who choose not to skate, will be offered 'free time' in the gym or Camp room with other campers and staff.

Week One - Crazy Camp - July 3 to July 7 |
Skating is July 4th at 11:00am and July 6th at 11:00am (yes, we do have other activities for children who do not want to skate) Special Notes about this week! - Wednesday - Show and Tell - Bring a special item to you, to show to the group! - Friday - Baseball Glove, bathing suit/change of clothes for Water Activities - Friday is also JERSEY DAY! Wear a jersey from your favourite team/sports

Week Two - Explorers Camp - July 10 to July 14 |
Skating - July 11th at 2:00pm and July 13th at 2:00pm (yes, we do have other activities for children who do not want to skate)
Special Notes about this week! - Wednesday - Show and Tell - Bring a special item to show the group! - Friday is BLUE/GREEN day! Wear blues and green clothing, hats - whatever you'd like! - Friday is WATER DAY! Bring a bathing suit, towel and a change of clothes for for water activities outside!

Week Two - Girls Hockey Development with Trudy Stacey - July 10 to July 14 |
We are looking forward to a great week of on-ice hockey skill development and off-ice are excited to continue to develop the framework to engage our young ladies in conversations surrounding personal wellness, social awareness, and leadership skills, and empowering self-confidence.
A few items to bring: 1. Water Bottle – Labelled. 2. Snacks – Peanut Free 3. PLAIN WHITE T-SHIRT FOR ACTIVITY – DYEABLE COTTON 4. Clothing - dress for the weather as we hope to be outside for off-ice activities 5. Running shoes 6. Full Equipment, and if possible – Dark and Light Jersey 7. Ripple Journals if you have them
Important Information
Players are expected to arrive each day at the D’Arcy Street entrance of the CCC (POND), for check-in. Coaches are available to help with equipment - Parents are not permitted in the dressing rooms or on player benches.
**All registered players should have received an email by Wednesday, July 5th with time/group confirmation, if you have not received that email, please contact camps@cobourg.ca
**Camper Information Form is attached to this email, we ask that you bring this with you for your first day! We will have some printed at check in if you are unable to print at home.

Week Three - Heroes Camp - July 17 to July 21 |
Skating - July 18th and July 20th at 1:00pm both days.
Special Notes about this week! - Wednesday - Show and Tell - Bring a special item to show the group! - Friday - Dress like a Superhero! Wear your Superhero costume or Superhero clothing! - Friday we will be visiting the Cobourg Fire Hall - Permission forms are available with Camp staff at check in/check out - Friday is also WATER DAY! Bring a bathing suit, towel and a change of clothes for for water activities outside!

Week Three - Learn to Skate Camp - July 17 to July 21 |
We're so excited for our new skaters to join us for a fun filled week of learning!
Each day our skaters will be on ice from 10:00am to 11:00am for their lesson. Skaters are expected to bring warm clothing for being on the ice, with Hockey Helmets (face masks are strongly encouraged) and proper figure skates or hockey skates and don't forget mittens! If your child would like to wear any additional gear, they are welcome to. Our staff can help you get gear on if you're not sure or if you need a little help!
ICE ONLY - Learn to Skate Camp For children participating for just the on ice portion of Learn to Skate Camp - Please arrive at the Pond entrance inside the front lobby of the CCC. We will direct you to a change room at that time. Please ensure you sign your child in and out with our Camp staff once you arrive at the dressing room. We ask that you still fill out a Camper information form (found at the bottom of this page) and have it ready with you on your first day.
FULL DAY - Learn to Skate + Day Camp For children staying with us for the full day of camp - they will check in at the start of the day at the camp tent and our staff will take them into the arena for their lesson and return them back to camp after, where they will continue to participate in the remainder of the camp day. Please note, campers who are signed up for the full day of camp are able to utilize the before and after care option (beginning at 7:30am until 5:30pm)
Optional Skating - July 18th at 1pm and July 20th at 1pm
**Optional Afternoon Skate is offered to all participants in Learn to Skate Full Day Camp on July 18th and July 20th. These are recreational skates with our other day campers.

Week Four - Learn to Play Hockey Camp - July 24 to July 28 |
We're so excited for our new Hockey Players to join us for a fun filled week of hockey!
Each day our skaters will be on ice from 9:00 to 10:00am for their lesson. Hockey Players are expected to be in full gear on the ice, including hockey stick. Hockey helmets must have full face masks.
ICE ONLY - Learn to Play Hockey Camp For children participating for just the on ice portion of Learn to Play Hockey Camp - Please arrive at the Pond entrance inside the front lobby of the CCC. We will direct you to a change room at that time. Please ensure you sign your child in and out with our Camp staff once you arrive at the dressing room. Week Eight - Hockey Development Camp - August 21 to August 25 |
Our favourite camp of the summer! Hockey Development Camp! We're excited to welcome our hockey players to a fun filled week of skills, speed and hard work with our Instructors from War Horse Hockey.
There are two groups skating this week;

We will direct you to a change room at that time. Please ensure you sign your child in and out with our Camp staff once you arrive at the dressing room. Hard to believe that this is our last week of Camp! What a fast summer! We can't wait to see you for week 9 - Crazy Camp - a different theme each day! Skating - August 29th and August 31st at 1:00pm on both days EVERYDAY - Please wear clothing that can get messy - you never know when we'll throw in a wild activity during the final week of camp! Wednesday - Show and Tell! Bring something from home to show your camp friends! Friday - Water Day! Bring a bathing suit, towel and participate in some water fun!! |
