(Cobourg, ON) June 21, 2019 – The Town of Cobourg’s Community Services Division is pleased to announce a new partnership with the Country Wild Music Festival that involves the decision to move this year’s festival, taking place on the weekend of July 19th-20th, indoors to the Cobourg Community Centre (CCC).
Founded in 2017 by Andrew Hall and Matt Williams, Country Wild Music Festival began with a goal of raising the bar for small-town events. The festival originally took place in Victoria Park bringing country music artists from across Canada and the United States to Cobourg, Ontario. As the popularity of the festival continues to expand the decision was made to move it indoors to avoid potential cancellation due to inclement weather. Event organizers were pleased with the Bowl Arena and its capacity to host upwards of 750 people on the floor, and with ticket sales already over 50% sold out, the Cobourg Community Centre was the perfect fit.
“The Town of Cobourg has always been helpful in the organization of the event,” says Andrew Hall, Director of Operations for Country Wild Music Festival. “But now, the staff at the Cobourg Community Centre will partner with us to make Country Wild the best it can be this year and in years to come by adding logistical and promotional support that we haven’t had before.”
The Country Wild Music Festival will begin on the evening of Friday, July 19th with the VIP Country Wild Kick-Off Party in the CCC’s Grand Hall followed by an amazing lineup of country music artists playing in the Bowl Arena on Saturday, July 20th from 2-11 p.m. The canteen will be open on both days serving a tailored southern style menu sure to keep all appetites pleased.
“By moving the event to the Cobourg Community Centre we can produce a major concert event at an extremely low price point to country music fans,” says Matt Williams, Entertainment Director & CEO of Country Wild Music Festival. “The staff have really stepped up and made us feel welcome and confident we will have an amazing event. In addition to the benefit of not dealing with the weather, we are looking forward to adding even more production value and unannounced artist surprises throughout the day.”
The Country Wild Music Festival will be hosting three of the top songwriters and emerging acts in country music for their first Canadian shows. These artists have played to crowds of 15,000-20,000 each night on tour across America with the likes of Luke Combs, Tim McGraw, Luke Bryan and Lynyrd Skynyrd.
“We look forward to welcoming not only the artists but the many concert goers who have a genuine love of country music and this fantastic festival,” said Councillor Adam Bureau, Coordinator of Arts, Culture and Tourism. “We are pleased that the CCC was chosen as the ideal indoor location for this festival and look forward to continuing to offer our community even more events as we continue to focus on building local arts, culture and entertainment.”
