Cobourg, ON (September 13, 2018) – The Community Services’ Division is pleased to be launching a new online reservation request system for the 2019 Campground season beginning Saturday, September 29th. The new reservation system has been created to eliminate the need for citizens to line up and to ensure a fair and equitable process.
“We want everyone to have just as fair a chance at reserving a campground as the next person,” said Paul Gauthier, Waterfront Operations Manager for The Town of Cobourg. “The Online Reservation Request System is an effective and efficient way for the Town to move forward with an equitable booking process.”
How Will the 2019 Online Reservation Request System Work for Campers?
Beginning on Saturday, September 29th at 9 a.m. an electronic booking form will become available on the Town’s Municipal website www.cobourg.ca. This form will allow for up to four (4) booking requests for the 2019 season. All booking requests will require a reservation fee to be paid and a customer profile to be created. Reservation requests will be date and time stamped.Citizens are asked to make all booking requests through this system.
It’s important to note that reservations will become final once Town staff have contacted you by phone to confirm your booking. Any questions or comments can be directed to Waterfront Operations staff by calling 905-373-2397.
How Will the 2018 Reservation Request System Work for Campers?
Beginning on Saturday, September 29th at 9 a.m. all 2018 campers will be able to make reservation requests online. Staff will then contact each applicant in the order received by phone to create the reservation and collect the fee. Booking confirmation letters will be sent out electronically.
The electronic form will take up to four requests, collect name and contact information. If the requests are able to be fulfilled staff will call the individual in order to finalize the booking. In the event that someone has previously booked a site already requested, staff will review the “notes” section of the form to see if they can use sites that are in your second choice section.
Staff will work diligently to fulfill all requests in a timely manner and to ensure that requests are captured and processed in an efficient and fair way. To that end, it is essential that current phone contact information is on your request so that staff may contact you to work through any reservations that may be conflicting with availability or site requests so that we can accommodate you with the “best available”.
As per past years, no phone call reservations will be taken on the Saturday Booking Day. The office will be open to answer questions and assist but will not be making reservations. Beginning Monday, October 1st starting at 9:00 am phone calls and walk-in reservations will be created.
All reservation bookings will be done in accordance with the Booking Day Rules posted below. For additional information on the interim booking procedures please contact the Town of Cobourg Campground office at 905-373-7321.
