Workman Road Closed for Fire Overhaul Operations - July 17, 2026
Cobourg, ON (July 17, 2026 – 9 a.m.) – The Town of Cobourg Fire Department would like to advise residents that Workman Road between County Road 2 and Elgin Street East will be closed today, July 17, 2026, starting at 10 a.m. until approximately 5 p.m.
The Cobourg Fire Department will be on scene for overhaul operations following an active straw fire in the area last evening. The road was closed for several hours while firefighters worked to extinguish the fire. Overhaul operations is the process of searching for hidden fire extension on a fire scene, soon after the main fire has been extinguished.
The road will be blocked to through traffic, with emergency access only.
