Notice of Public Information Centre: Anne Street Reconstruction College Street to University Avenue East

Cobourg, ON (September 11, 2026) – The Town of Cobourg and Lakefront Utility Services Inc. have engaged CIMA Canada Inc. to complete the design for the reconstruction of Anne Street between College Street and University Avenue East.

The project includes the replacement of the existing watermain, sanitary sewer and storm sewer, along with full reconstruction of the roadway, curbs and concrete sidewalks. Water and sanitary service connections will also be replaced from the new mains to the property line and connected to the existing private services. There will be no cost to property owners for this work.

The purpose of this notice is to invite residents and property owners to an upcoming Public Information Centre (PIC). The PIC will provide an opportunity to review the preliminary design, learn more about the proposed work, discuss potential property impacts and provide feedback to the project team.

The design is currently underway, with construction anticipated to begin in spring 2027, subject to budget approval.

The Public Information Centre will be held on Monday, September 21, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Spoolon Room at the Cobourg Community Centre, located at 750 D’Arcy Street. Preliminary design drawings will be available for viewing, and representatives from the Town of Cobourg, Lakefront Utility Services Inc. and CIMA Canada Inc. will be available to discuss the project and answer questions.

Following the PIC, the presentation materials and preliminary design drawings will be made available on the Town of Cobourg and Lakefront Utility’s website.
