Experience Cobourg to Host Tragically Hip: A National Celebration 10th Anniversary Watch Party

Cobourg, ON (August 5, 2026) – The Town of Cobourg's Community Services Division invites residents and visitors to gather for a special watch party celebrating the 10th anniversary presentation of The Tragically Hip: A National Celebration.

Ten years ago, CBC’s live presentation of the The Tragically Hip: A National Celebration was viewed by an estimated one-third of Canadians, becoming one of the most memorable moments in Canadian music history.

On Saturday, August 22, fans will have the opportunity to experience the iconic concert once again during a free outdoor community watch party at Cobourg Marina (103 Third Street).

Hosted by Experience Cobourg, the event will bring The Hip's legendary Kingston performance to the waterfront, creating an evening of music, memories, and celebration.

Attendees are encouraged to arrive before the 8 p.m. presentation to set up lawn chairs, enjoy music, purchase food and refreshments, and take in the atmosphere before the show begins.

The licensed outdoor event is free to attend and open to all ages. The Cobourg Yacht Club will operate the licensed bar, with food also available for purchase on site.
