Experience Cobourg’s 2026 Movies Under the Stars Lineup

Make the most out of your summer in Cobourg with free outdoor movies

Cobourg, ON (July 17, 2026) – Experience Cobourg is pleased to announce the lineup of films planned for this summer’s Movies Under the Stars.

Movies Under the Stars gives families and friends the chance to enjoy a relaxing summer movie night free of charge. Bring your blanket or lawn chair and prepare to enjoy an exciting evening under the stars. Films are projected onto a giant inflatable outdoor movie screen that uses a powerful video projector and concert quality sound system.

A special thank you to our movie sponsor, The Mortgage Centre, and our treat sponsor, Mistral Group, for helping make Movies Under the Stars possible. Complimentary treats will be available while quantities last. Additional snacks and food will also be available for purchase at select events.

Movies begin at dusk (approximately 8:30 p.m.)

  Movie will be shown at Donegan Park | Field C
• Minecraft Movie | Monday, August 3
  Movie will be shown on the Beach
• Lilo & Stitch | Saturday, August 8
  Movie will be shown in Victoria Park
  (this was rescheduled from the original date of July 4, due to weather conditions)
• Superman | Saturday, August 22
  Movie will be shown on the Beach
• Hoppers | Saturday, September 5
  Movie will be shown in Victoria Park
• Special Feature Screening: Marie Dressler’s Oscar-Winning Film Min and Bill | Saturday, September 12 at dusk (approximately 7:45 p.m.)
  Movie will be shown on the Esplanade

Join us for a special Movies Under the Stars presentation celebrating one of Cobourg’s most iconic figures, Marie Dressler.

Born in Cobourg, Marie Dressler went on to become one of Hollywood’s most beloved stars. Her remarkable career spanned stage, silent films, and talking pictures, and in 1931 she won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her unforgettable performance as Min in Min and Bill.

Celebrate Cobourg’s connection to film history with this special outdoor screening honouring a local legend whose talent and determination made her a true trailblazer in the entertainment industry.
