Downtown Cobourg Road Closure for Pride Event
Cobourg, ON (June 15, 2026) – The Town of Cobourg would like to inform residents and visitors of upcoming road closures in downtown Cobourg associated with Downtown Cobourg Pride on Saturday, June 20, 2026.
Hosted by the Downtown Business Improvement Area (DBIA), Downtown Cobourg Pride brings the community together to celebrate diversity, inclusion, and pride in the heart of downtown. The event transforms King Street into a vibrant gathering space featuring local businesses, entertainment, family-friendly activities, food vendors, community organizations, and more.
Downtown Cobourg returns with a vibrant street celebration on from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. featuring a kid’s zone, street market, extended patios, drag performances, food trucks, live entertainment, and activities for all ages.
The Pride Parade will begin at 11 a.m., travelling from Victoria Park to the Cobourg Police Station. Visitors can also enjoy three hours of free parking in downtown municipal lots throughout the event.
Road Closures and Traffic Impacts
To support the event and safety of attendees, the following road closures will be in effect:
- King Street West, from Spring Street to Division Street, and Second Street, will be closed from 7 a.m. on Saturday, June 20 until 7 a.m. on Sunday, June 21.
- King Street East, from Division Street to McGill Street, will be closed from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. to accommodate the Pride Parade.
Additional traffic restrictions will be in place throughout the event area:
- The intersection of King Street and Third Street/George Street will be closed to vehicular traffic.
- Access to Third Street will be restricted at Albert Street.
- Motorists travelling on George Street will not be permitted to travel south of Orange Street.
- Traffic exiting Covert Street will be restricted to northbound travel only.
These measures are being implemented to provide a safe environment for event participants, visitors, and businesses while minimizing conflicts between vehicles and pedestrians.
Residents and visitors are encouraged to plan alternate routes, allow additional travel time, and follow all posted signage and directions from event staff and traffic control personnel.
