Downtown and Waterfront Road Closures – October 3

Cobourg, ON (September 29, 2026) – The Town of Cobourg is advising residents and visitors of upcoming road, pedestrian and parking lot closures in downtown Cobourg and at the waterfront on Saturday, October 3, 2026.

The closures are required to accommodate the Cobourg Marina boat lift-out and hauling operations, as well as the Downtown Cobourg DBIA’s Harvest Festival and Cornerstone Family Violence Prevention Centre’s Walk A Mile event.

Marina Boat Lift-Out
The Cobourg Marina’s fall boat lift-out and hauling operations will take place on Saturday, October 3.

To safely complete the work, the following road, pedestrian and parking lot closures will be in effect

• The Esplanade, including East and West parking lots, will be closed from Wednesday, September 30 at 7 a.m. until October 4 at 5 p.m.
• Cobourg Marina Parking Lot
• Hibernia Street, south of Third Street – not a full closure; delays are expected
• Third Street, between Hibernia Street and The Esplanade – not a full closure; delays are expected
• Division Street, south of The Esplanade

Pedestrian access will also be restricted in areas where heavy equipment is operating. Every effort will be made to reopen roads and walkways when it is safe to do so.

Harvest Fest
The Downtown Cobourg DBIA’s Harvest Festival will take place on Saturday, October 3, bringing a full day of fall activities and entertainment to downtown Cobourg.

Visitors can enjoy live music, a street market featuring local artisans and guest vendors, fall photo opportunities, food trucks, live animals and more. The day will also include Cornerstone Family Violence Prevention Centre’s Walk A Mile event. Registration is still open.

The Cobourg Farmers’ Market will also be taking place at Rotary Harbourfront Park, giving visitors another opportunity to shop local and enjoy the community.

Downtown Road Closures
The following road closures will be in effect from Saturday, October 3 at 7:30 a.m. until Sunday, October 4 at 7:30 a.m.:

• Second Street closed from King Street West to Albert Street
• Third Street closed from Albert Street to King Street West
• George Street closed to through traffic at Covert Street
• King Street West closed from Spring Street to Second Street

Local businesses will remain open during the event. Motorists are asked to use alternate routes and follow posted signage while closures are in place.

Parking
Municipal parking is currently in the low-season period, with the first three hours of parking free. After three hours, the regular parking rate applies. For more information visit cobourg.ca/parking.
