Community Invited to Cobourg’s Canada Day Celebrations

Enjoy the Canada Day Parade, festivities in Victoria Park and fireworks over the Harbour

Cobourg, ON (June 10, 2026) – Get ready to celebrate Canada Day in Cobourg! On Wednesday, July 1, the town comes alive with a full day of festivities, as part of the ongoing Cobourg Waterfront Festival, including a parade, live entertainment, family-friendly activities, and a fireworks finale over the harbour.

Canada Day Parade
The annual Canada Day Parade steps off at 11 a.m., departing from King Street and William Street (in front of the Cobourg Public Library), travelling east along King Street to Victoria Park.

The Fare Share Food Bank will be accepting donations at the beginning of the parade. Volunteers will be collecting non-perishable food donations, as well as cash and card (tap) donations.

Community groups, local businesses, marching bands, and other organizations are invited to register a float, vehicle, or walking entry. Registration is free, submit your entry by Thursday, June 25 using the Canada Day Parade Registration Form.

Entertainment for Everyone
Join Emcee York Bell-Smith for the Opening Canada Day ceremonies at the Bandshell in Victoria Park at 12:30 p.m.

From 1 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., enjoy live music and entertainment at the Bandshell in Victoria Park along with amusement rides, breakfast in the park, food vendors, the Lions Marketplace, and a refreshment tent.

In Rotary Harbourfront Park, experience Cobourg’s Multicultural Celebration, featuring music, dance, performances, food vendors, Rotary HarbourArts, and a refreshment tent in a vibrant waterfront setting.

Waterfront Festival
The Cobourg Waterfront Festival runs from Saturday, June 27 to Wednesday, July 1. offering vendor tents, amusement rides, entertainment and food vendors. Browse the Rotary HarbourArts tents, wander the Lions Marketplace in Victoria Park, and ride on the amusement rides. Visitor Information and Free Shuttle Service
Need help while you’re in town? Stop by the Experience Cobourg Tourism Information Hub at 35 Albert Street for festival information, directions, and everything you need to make the most of your Canada Day experience.

Free Cobourg Waterfront Festival shuttles run every 30 minutes to make getting to the festivities easy. Free parking is available at the Northumberland Mall and Cobourg Community Centre. Shuttle stops include:

  • Northumberland Mall (1111 Elgin Street West, Bus stop in front of Gates College)
  • Cobourg Community Centre bus stop (750 D'Arcy Street, west entrance doors)
  • Downtown Terminal (35 Albert Street)
  • Cobourg Marina (103 Third Street)

Only service animals will be permitted to ride the shuttles.

Fireworks Finale (July 1)
Canada celebrations are not complete until Cobourg’s annual fireworks show over the harbour at 10 p.m. sharp!

Road Closures

  • Saturday, June 20 to Wednesday, July 1: The Esplanade
  • Thursday, June 25 to Wednesday, July 1: Division Street South of Albert Street
  • Friday, June 26 to Wednesday, July 1: Charles Street
  • Wednesday, July 1, only: King Street from William Street to D’Arcy Street will be closed starting at 7 a.m. until the Canada Day Parade is complete.
    • No overnight parking is permitted on King Street from Tuesday, June 30 to Wednesday, July 1. Vehicles left on King Street along the parade route on July 1 will be ticketed and towed.

Parking Lot Closures

  • Albert Street parking lot: Closed Wednesday, June 24 through Wednesday, July 1
  • Marina parking lot: Closed (except for boaters) from Saturday, June 27, Sunday, June 28, and Wednesday, July 1
  • The Esplanade Parking Lot: Closed from Wednesday, June 24 through Wednesday July 1
