Battle of the Badges Charity Games Raises Over $16,600 for Big Brothers Big Sisters
Cobourg, ON (April 17, 2026) – The Cobourg Police Service and Cobourg Fire Department are pleased to announce the third annual Battle of the Badges hockey game raised more than $16,600 to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Durham and Northumberland, supporting local youth mentoring programs.
The April 4 event at the Cobourg Community Centre welcomed approximately 1,100 attendees, including families, youth and community supporters. The Cobourg Fire Department and Cobourg Police Service faced off in the highly anticipated match. This year’s winner of the Chris Garrett Memorial Trophy, donated by CJ's Tap and Grill, was the Cobourg Police Service.
Funds were raised through donations at the door, and with the generous support of event sponsors. The Cobourg Fire Department and Cobourg Police Service extend their thanks to all sponsors, including:
