What is a Zoning By-law Amendment:
A Zoning By-law, is a legally enforceable document that controls the use of land within a community. Using a series of land use zones and labels, it generally spells out:
The Town of Cobourg Comprehensive Zoning By-law #85-2003 maps out each geographic area of the town into a series of land use zones and labels to clearly identify how specific land and properties can be developed.
Significant changes to land use or zone regulations require a Zoning By-law Amendment application. If approved, a Zoning By-law Amendment allows an applicant to alter the current approved use of their property, without the Town of Cobourg requiring a complete rewrite of the Town’s Comprehensive Zoning By-law.
