Residents invited to attend ‘Spring into Parking’ information sessions at Victoria Hall

Cobourg, ON (March 28, 2023) – The Town of Cobourg is pleased to announce 2023 Waterfront Season Parking Passes are now on sale. Members of the public are invited to drop into ‘Spring into Parking’ information sessions to learn more, ask questions and purchase their passes.

Town staff will be available to assist residents at the ‘Spring into Parking’ sessions in the lobby of Victoria Hall (55 King Street West) on Thursday, March 30 and Friday, March 31 from 12 to 4 p.m. More dates will be added in April and May.

Waterfront parking is in effect annually starting on the Victoria Day long weekend to Thanksgiving. Last year, the Town of Cobourg implemented changes to the waterfront parking pricing as well as introduced new Waterfront Parking Passes. A total of 1,185 Resident Waterfront Season Passes were sold in this first year, providing Cobourg residents with access to Cobourg’s waterfront all season long, at a rate of approximately $0.25/day. In February, following a staff report and Engage Cobourg survey, Council moved to continue with the Waterfront Parking strategy for another year with increased communication and education for residents.

Residents are encouraged to purchase their passes online at parking.cobourg.ca. Passes are also available in-person from town hall.

Residents wishing to purchase their parking passes are reminded to know the license plate(s) and make of the vehicle, and bring photo ID. One pass is permitted per Cobourg residential address. Residents can register up to two vehicles per pass, however only one vehicle can utilize the pass at a time.

Waterfront Parking Pass Options Include:

  • Daily Waterfront Parking Pass - $40/day (Victoria Day to Thanksgiving):
Eligible in all on-street and pay and display lots except for the Charles Street lot which is reserved for Cobourg residents only.
  • Resident Waterfront Season Pass - (Victoria Day to Thanksgiving): Eligible in all on-street and pay and display waterfront areas.
    • $40/season – Cobourg Residents
    • $20/season – East Beach Area residents
Visit parking.cobourg.ca to purchase your Waterfront Parking Pass online.

East Beach Parking Area
On-street parking, east of Victoria Park (as shown on the map) is the East Beach parking area. Paid parking in this area is available using a Waterfront Pass (Daily or Resident Pass) or Honk Mobile. Hours of enforcement in the East Beach Parking Area is 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Overnight parking at the Cobourg waterfront is available, only within the East Beach parking area.
