Cobourg, ON (November 9, 2023) – The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 133 will host a Remembrance Day ceremony at the Victoria Park Cenotaph on Saturday, November 11, 2023. Members of the public are invited to attend the 10:30 a.m. ceremony.
Prior to the ceremony, a Remembrance Day Parade will march from the Cobourg Legion (135B Orr Street) to Victoria Park beginning at 10 a.m.
The parade route will begin at the Cobourg Legion (135 Orr Street) and travel north on Hibernia St. east on King Street until turning right onto Church Street to make its way into Victoria Park. Following the ceremony, the parade will march from Victoria Park back to the Cobourg Legion taking the same route.
Dinner at the Legion
The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 133, located at 135 Orr Street, is hosting a Remembrance Day Dinner, which is open to the public. Cocktails start at 5 p.m., with dinner at 6 p.m. for $20 per person (no charge for veterans who served or are currently serving and the veteran’s spouse or caregiver accompanying them). Tickets are available at the Legion.
2023 Poppy Campaign
The Legion’s annual Poppy Campaign is already underway in Cobourg. From the last Friday of October to November 11, tens of millions of Canadians wear a Poppy as a visual pledge to honour Canada’s Veterans and remember those who sacrificed for the freedoms we enjoy today.
Donations collected through local Poppy Campaigns are held in Trust at the branch level to directly support Veterans and their families within their community.
Donations to the Poppy Fund can be made by cash or cheque to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #133 Poppy Fund. Tax receipts will be issued for donations as long as a name and address are included.

Flags at Half Staff
The Town of Cobourg would like to advise residents that all Town-owned flags across the community will be lowered to half-staff on Saturday, November 11, 2023, to honour Remembrance Day.
