Cobourg, ON (August 9, 2023) – The Town of Cobourg would like to inform all residents and guests that the Cobourg Sandcastle Festival will be moved to Sunday, August 13, 2023.

Due to the high risk of thunderstorms on Saturday August 12, the Cobourg Sandcastle Festival, including the inflatable fun park and amateur competition, will be moved to Sunday, August 13.

Master Sculptures at Work:
The Master Sand Sculptors will build their sculptures as planned on Friday, August 11 and Saturday, August 12. If weather permits, people are welcome to walk the beach to observe these artists at work. Sculptures will be protected by tents to ensure they can be enjoyed for the festival on Sunday.

Shuttle Service:
Free shuttles will be running on Sunday, August 13 from 9 am to 6 pm from the Northumberland Mall and Cobourg Community Centre to the Cobourg Beach.

Movie in the Park:
The movie in the park will also be moved to Sunday evening due to inclement weather. Bring your snacks, beach chairs, blankets and bug spray and enjoy watching The Sandlot on the inflatable big screen in Victoria Park right by the Bandshell. The movie will begin at sundown, approximately 8:30pm.
