BOOMERS - Fridays at 10:00 a.m. - Cobourg Rotary Room

Are you 55+ and interested in meeting new friends, having interesting conversations and learning something new each week - all for free?!  We host a weekly program that offers just that.

  • Friday, March 6th: Guest: Certified Hospice Palliative Care Ontario (HPCO) Trainers - This free, interactive community session will empower you to take control of your healthcare journey. Understand your rights, prepare your loved ones and make your voice heard.
  • Friday, March 13th: Guest: Ganaraska Financial Credit Union - Seniors are often the primary target of sophisticated financial scams. Don't become a statistic. Join us for this critical session to learn the latest tactics scammers are using and how to build the strongest possible defense. You will leave with actionable steps to safeguard your assets and your peace of mind.
  • Friday, March 27th: Guest: Maria Papaioannoy Empower Yourself! Join Maria for a practical, one-hour workshop on Self-Advocacy. Learn essential skills to speak up, get your needs met, and make your voice heard with confidence.

Adult Craft Night - Bewdley - Wednesday, March 18th 6:00 p.m.

Create a crochet dishcloth with us. Registration is required.

Teen Sticker Art Challenge - Friday, March 13th to Sunday, March 22nd - Drop In - Cobourg

Bring your friends to work collaboratively to reveal the hidden picture one sticker at a time. What will you reveal? Teens welcome. Drop-in program.

Teen Pickle Taste Testing - Friday, March 20th at 2:00 p.m. - Cobourg

Cobourg Rotary Room - Registration Required
Join us for an interactive experience where you will sample, savour, and vote on your favourite pickles. Register today and let the pickle journey begin. Teens Welcome. Ages 13 to 18.

MOTHER GOOSE - Monday, March 23rd at 10:00 a.m. (10-week program) - Cobourg

Cobourg - Rotary Room
Join us for an hour of rhymes, songs, and oral stories that are perfect for bonding with your baby in this 10-week program. Registration Required: Begins online Sunday, March 1st at 1:00 p.m.
Parent/Guardian & Child (Aged 0-24 months). Rotary Room. 

Note: The program will pause on Monday, April 6th and Monday, May 18th due to Library holidays and closures. 

COBOURG FAMILY STORYTIME - Thursdays at 10:30 a.m.

Join us for stories, songs and rhymes. A great program for school readiness and meeting other families in our community.

BEWDLEY FAMILY STORYTIME - Friday at 10:00 a.m.

Join Library staff for storytime at our Bewdley Branch. Each week we will explore a different theme through stories, songs, and a craft.

Woodland Critters Spring Craft Take and Make Kit - Township Branches Only

Each kit contains the materials to create one woodland critters spring craft.

Art Mystery Scavenger Hunt - Friday, March 13th to Sunday, March 22nd - Drop In - All Locations

Twelve famous works of art on loan to the library have gone missing. Help us to find them and learn some art history along the way. Locate all of the paintings and receive a reward. Drop-in. Families Welcome

Gaming Afternoon - Saturday, March 14th - 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. - Bewdley Branch

Visit the Bewdley Branch for an afternoon of Nintendo Switch gaming. Challenge your friends and enjoy some snacks. Families welcome. Drop-in program.

Home Alone Course - Monday, March 16th - 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. - Cobourg 

This FREE course will provide youth 10 to 14 years of age with the skills and knowledge that will assist them in being confident about staying home alone. Through interactive games and activities, participants will learn about how to stay safe in various situations and what to do in case of an emergency. Registration required.

Construction Zone - Monday, March 16th - During Library Hours - Cobourg

Dive into the joy of building with Duplo blocks, Lego bricks, Keva plants, and colourful dominoes. Unleash your imagination to craft anything from whimsical castles to futuristic space stations; there are no limits. Where you are working solo or teaming up with friends, each building opportunity encourages problem-solving, innovation, and hands-on learning. 25th Annual CobourgPL Oscar Contest - All Library Locations

Vote now until Sunday, March 15th at 5:00 pm.
Pick up your ballot (or print one) and vote for your favourite movies, actors, actresses or director!  
You can also enter online.
The winner will be chosen by those entries with the most correct answers, and will receive a gift basket donated by CVS Midwesttapes.
Winner must be able to pick up their prize from the Cobourg Public Library.

Plant Swap & Seed Library Re-Opening🪴Saturday, March 14th - 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon - Cobourg Library

Bring your labelled plants and propagations ready to swap them for others of similar size and value. Everyone is welcome. Drop-in.
Our seed libraries will also be re-opening at all locations, during open hours, starting March 14th; make sure you stop by to 'check-out' your seeds!

Note: We will not be accepting any plants in advance of the event.

SEED LIBRARY GIVEAWAY - Saturday, March 14th to Saturday, March 21st

🌱The Seed Library is opening on Saturday, March 14th! Visit any of our locations, including Cold Springs, Gores Landing, Bewdley and Cobourg, between March 14th and 21st to check out a seed package and enter our Seed Library Giveaway. This is your chance to win a garden themed prize. 🌿✨

The winner will be drawn at random and contacted on March 23rd. Those who enter must have a CobourgPL card and be able to pick up their prize within 7 days of being contacted.

REGISTER FOR A FREE TREE

Register by March 15th to share your love of nature with your children by registering them for a free tree! 
Register your child online before March 15th to receive a free tree to plant the week of Earth Day, April 22nd. We will contact you when your child's tree is ready for pick-up at the Cobourg Public Library.

Meet New Friends & Learn Something New.  
Are you 55+ and interested in meeting new friends, having interesting conversations and learning something new each week - all for free?!  We host a weekly program that offers just that.  Light refreshments provided. Drop-in.

  • February 6th: Guest: Bob Garthson, Organic Gardener - Preparing for the garden season, including where to obtain plants and seeds.
  • February 13th: No Guest Speaker: Let’s get together for light refreshments and chatter about current events.
  • February 20th: Guest: Randy Barber, President of the Cobourg & District Historical Society.  Learn about the fascinating history of barbering from our Town of Cobourg Councilor and historian, Randy Barber.
  • February 27th -  Guest: Rick Miller, President & Chair of the Marie Dressler Foundation. Learn about the history of our local Marie Dressler House.

Bewdley Book Club - Wednesday, February 11th at 6:30pm

Tech Buddies - Cobourg Library

Tuesdays from January 13th to February 24th - 4:15 p.m. to 5:15 p.m.
Join Trinity College Students for basic tech help at this drop-in, first-come-first-serve partnership program. Remember to bring your tech, a notepad and pen. 

Beyond Books on 89.7 FM - Wednesday, February 4th - 10:15 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Listen to us live on Northumberland 89.7FM as we discuss upcoming programs, events and resources.

Breakfast & Books - Saturday, February 7th - 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Visit us at the Harwood Hall's monthly pancake breakfast!  We'll have activities for the kids as well as a great selection of items for you to check out.
