Adult Summer Reading Club - All Locations - July 2nd to August 30th

Read something a little different this summer!
Pick up your Challenge bookmark at any Library Branch and read your way through the challenges. Each challenge you complete earns you an entry in our monthly prize draw.  Complete your whole bookmark and be entered to win a gift basket featuring gift vouchers for restaurants all over Cobourg!

Teen Summer Reading Club - All Locations - June 30th to August 23rd

The summer read squad just got super chill!
Snag a stamp for each item you check out with your Library Card.
Rack up 8 stamps and score a shot at our summer prize drop.
Teens welcome.  Ages 13 to 17.

Bewdley Book Club - Bewdley Branch - Wednesday, July 9th - 6:30 p.m.

Join us at the Bewdley Branch where we get together and discuss our latest book of choice!
July 9th - The Women by Kristin Hannah.
Our Bewdley Book Club will not be meeting in August.
Registration is Required, so please talk to branch staff if interested!

Teen Chocolate Tasting - Cobourg Library - Friday, July 25th - 2:00 p.m. - Rotary Room

Calling all chocolate lovers! Do you consider yourself a true connoisseur of cocoa? Then join us for an hour of delectable fun. Prepare to tantalize your senses and discover just how well you really know your chocolate. Are you up for the challenge?
**Allergy Alert: Please be advised that this program is food based and may contain allergens.**

TD Summer Reading Club - All Library Locations - June 30th to August 23rd

Visit your library and register for the TD Summer Reading Club!
Read any library book at your reading level and report back to library staff with an oral, picture, or written report. Each book report gives you a chance to win our end of summer prizes!

3D Submarine Take and Make Kits - Bewdley and Gores Landing Branches 

Available starting July 2nd during Branch hours.
Stop by the Library and pick up your 3D Submarine Kit to make this floating foam toy. Each kit contains the materials to create one submarine.  While supplies last.

Where in the World? Virtual Program - June 30th to July 5th

This summer the TD Summer Reading Club is travelling the world through books. Visit us on social media for a daily glimpse of where in the world Rachael has taken her Cobourg Public Library card. Can you guess where she is?  Youth of all ages.

Family Storytime – Cobourg Library - Thursdays - 10:30 a.m.

Join us this summer for stories, songs, and rhymes. A great program for school readiness and meeting other families in our community.
Ages 0-6 years & Parent/Caregiver.  Drop-in Program.

Family Storytime – Bewdley Branch - Fridays - 10:00 a.m.

Join Library staff for storytime at our Bewdley branch this summer. Each week we will explore a different theme through stories, songs, and a craft.

Get Your Game On - Bewdley Branch - Saturday Afternoons - 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Drop-in for some Nintendo Switch gaming fun at the Bewdley Branch.

Around the World Scavenger Hunt - All Library Locations - Monday, July 7th to Saturday, July 12th

Travel around the world by discovering famous landmarks hidden in the Youth Services Area.  Find them all and win a prize!

3D Volcano Take & Make Kit - Cold Springs Branch

Available Starting July 9th - During Branch Hours
Stop by the Library and pick up your 3D Volcano kit to make this free-standing volcano.
Each kit contains the materials to create one Volcano.
While supplies last.

Family Summer Movie Nights - Cobourg Library - Wed. July 9th and July 30th - 6:00 p.m.

Bring your family to cool off this summer with a movie at the library. 
Popcorn will be provided, while supplies last. Please bring a re-usable water bottle to fill up at our foyer water station.

Cardboard Tube Binocular Craft Station - All Library Locations - July 14th to July 19th

Unleash your inner explorer with a fun craft project! Visit any Library branch to create your own cardboard tube binoculars. We provide the supplies and the instructions you need to transform simple cardboard tubes into a tool for discovery.
Families welcome.  Drop-in program.  While supplies last.

Family Storytime Visits the Cobourg Ecology Garden - Thursday, July 17th - 10:30 a.m.

Join Library Staff for a special storytime at the Cobourg Ecology Garden. Bring along a blanket or chair to enjoy the stories, songs, and rhymes outside in this local treasure.
The Cobourg Ecology Garden is located at 116 Hibernia Street, Cobourg, ON, K9A 3J8.

Canuckstruments with Mystic Drumz - Cobourg Library - Thursday, July 17th - 2:30 p.m. - Rotary Room

This family friendly show features instruments made only in Canada and by Canadians. It will take the audience into the workshops of Canada's great artisans and bring Canadian instrument making and innovation to the stage. We will dance our way from coast to coast and discover incredible Canadian made sounds.

DIY Postcard Creation Station - All Library Locations - July 21st to July 26th

This summer, elevate your travel experiences by creating personalized postcards to send to loved ones from your adventures.
We provide the supplies, you provide the creativity.

Bewdley Family Storytime with Northumberland EarlyON - Bewdley Branch - Friday, July 18th - 10:00 a.m.

Join us at the Bewdley Branch for a special storytime and activities in partnership with Northumberland EarlyON Child and Family Centres.

TD Summer Reading Club StoryWalk® - Cobourg Library - July 21st to July 26th

Bring your family to read the story as you walk along the outdoor path.

Scientists in-Situ Presents: Investigate It! - Cobourg Library - Wednesday, July 23rd - 6:00 p.m.

Become a forensic scientist and investigate this whodunit by examining clues left at the scene! Learn how to interpret evidence by exploring fabric samples and running a chemical analysis on a mystery solution. Take your own fingerprints and compare them to those left behind. Use chromatography to analyze the ink used in a mysterious note. Will you identify the culprit?
Program provided in partnership with Kawartha Credit Union.
Ages 6 to 12 years.

Ted Staunton - Kids Author Visit - Cobourg Library - Thursday, July 24th - 2:00 p.m.

Join local author Ted Staunton, as he talks about his brand new middle grade novel, Comic Shift.
Books will be available for purchase and signing after the presentation.
This program is in partnership with Furby House Books

STEAM Challenge: Paper Airplanes - All Library Locations - July 28th to August 2nd

Find your inner aviator at the Library! We will be provide all the necessary materials – colourful paper, markers, and even design templates for inspiration. All you need to bring is your imagination and a willingness to experiment. Whether you are a seasoned paper airplane engineer or a first-time folder, you will find something to enjoy. Come learn about aerodynamics, try out new designs, and see your creations soar! 
Families welcome.  Drop-in program.  While supplies last.

Exploring Nature - Cobourg Library - Tuesday, July 29th - 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Explore the Cobourg Library's outdoor space through hands-on activities including a nature craft, games, and shelter building.
Ages 6 to 12.

Cold Springs Branch Launch - Wednesday, July 9th - 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The Cold Springs Branch will be open every Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Your Library at the Cobourg Farmer's Market - Saturday, July 12th - 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Join your Library at the Cobourg Farmer's Market on Saturday, June 14th. Storytime will be held at 10:30 a.m. Bring a comfortable chair! We'll also have a library card sign up station.

Book and Bake Sale - Cobourg Library - Wednesday, July 16th - 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Join us in the Rotary Room to purchase home made baked goods and new-to-you books, all in support of your Cobourg Public Library.

Big Library Read - Thursday, July 17th to Thursday, July 31st

#BigLibraryRead, a digital book club connecting readers to the same ebook & audiobook with no waitlists or holds, starts July 17th!
The featured title is 'The Storyteller's Death' by Ann Dávila Cardinal.
