The Cobourg Public Library offers a variety of materials and programs for children and families you can enjoy together!

Cobourg Family Storytime

Thursdays - 10:30 a.m. - Rotary Room
Join us for stories, songs, and rhymes perfect for ages 0 to 6 years.
A great program for school readiness and meeting other families in our community.

Bewdley Family Storytime

Fridays - 10:00 a.m. - Bewdley Branch
Join us for storytime at our Bewdley branch.
Each week we will explore a different theme through stories, songs, and a craft. For ages 0 to 6.

Mother Goose (Registered Program)

Mondays - 10:00 a.m. - Cobourg Library
Join us for an hour of rhymes, songs, and stories that are perfect for bonding with your baby in this 10-week program.  Registration required.

Special Youth Collections

VOX™ Books

VOX™ books are printed books for children that provide full audio narration using a unique audio reader attached to the book.  Follow along as the story is read to you.

Decodable Books

Unlike the commonly-used leveled reader, decodable books are made to teach letter sounds and help children learn to “decode” what they’re reading without guessing.

Discovery Backpacks

Borrow a backpack with books and an activity or game inside!  Themes include: Dinosaurs, Fairy Tales and Frogs - or STEAM titles like Gravity and Engineering!

Borrow and Build

Borrow a LEGO Kit to take home and enjoy for 3 weeks - or build something fun at the Library! 
Each Kit contains 1 kg of LEGO pieces

CBC Kids Corner

  • CBC Corner has tons of safe, educational and entertaining content for children and youth of all ages including tv shows, free online games, fun quizzes and activities as well as news articles made by kids for kids.
  • As a parent, you will also find cool and simple crafts ideas, healthy recipes, and easy ways to learn through play!

Fiero Code 

  • A self-guided online software program that teaches youth (ages 8 to 18 years) how to code through hundreds of coding tutorials and dozens of real-world projects.
  • A gamified learning experience ― as youth progress through the activities, they will earn clothes and accessories for their personal avatar within the software.
  • Youth can learn to build websites, video games, apps, animations, and programs, while using the programing languages of HTML, CSS, Javascript, Python, Scratch, and SQL.

Frontier Life

  • A digital collection of primary sources including material from the Hudson Bay Archives and the Glenbow Archives.
  • It is designed to enrich teaching and research, examining settlement, existence and interactions at the edge of the Anglophone world from 1650-1920.

  • E-Books,  Audiobooks and Magazines for kids!
