Venture13 Accepting Expressions of Interest for 920 Square Foot Lab Space

Cobourg, ON (October 3, 2024) – The Town of Cobourg’s Venture13 Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre is accepting Expressions of Interest (EOI) from businesses or organizations interested in leasing a 920 square foot lab space. This versatile space is available for engineering labs, hands-on training centres, or light/small-scale manufacturing.

Project Purpose
Venture13 seeks to attract organizations that align with its mission to foster innovation, research, and technical training. This lab space offers an opportunity for businesses looking to integrate into an entrepreneurial community focused on growth and collaboration.

Lab Space Features

• Open layout for modular workstations or equipment setups
• Sink with emergency eye wash station
• 12' ceilings and ample daylight from west-facing windows
• High-speed internet and utilities included
• On-site business support services
• 24/7 secure access
• Proximity to Highway 401

Ideal Usage Scenarios

• Engineering labs for research or prototyping
• Technical or vocational training programs
• Light manufacturing or specialized production
• Collaboration or incubation projects

Leasing Details

• Available for occupancy on October 1, 2024
• Minimum 12-month lease
• $1,000/month plus taxes

Submission Requirements

Submissions should include:

• Introduction and business details
• Proposed use of the lab space
• Relevant experience
• Timeline for occupancy
• Any specific requirements

Evaluation Criteria

• Quality of submission (5 points)
• Experience and qualifications (20 points)
• Alignment with Venture13's innovation ecosystem (20 points)
• References (5 points)

EOIs are due by Friday, November 1, 2024, at 4:30 pm.
