One month left to submit your nominations

Cobourg, ON (January 27, 2026) – The Civic Awards Committee is pleased to announce that Trudy Stacey will be the emcee for the 23rd Annual Civic Awards taking place on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, during National Volunteer week.

Ms. Stacey was a former professional hockey player in Salzburg and is a respected community leader and collaborator. She captained the women’s hockey team at Quinnipiac University, competing at the NCAA Division I level. Her leadership on the ice has translated seamlessly into her continued contributions to sport and community off the ice in Northumberland.

In 2022, Ms. Stacey was honoured as a Cobourg Civic Award recipient, receiving the Sportsmanship Award, presented to a coach, official, or sports organizer who has demonstrated outstanding leadership and contribution to Cobourg’s sports and recreational community.

Today, Ms. Stacey continues her commitment to the community as the owner of Trudy’s Source for Sports, supporting local athletes, teams, and organizations across Northumberland County.

“I am truly honoured and excited to be part of an evening that recognizes the incredible local community members who give so much of their time, energy, and heart to making Cobourg such a special place,” said Ms. Stacey.

The Town of Cobourg’s Civic Awards Committee is open for nominations and residents are encouraged to nominate a deserving volunteer within the community. The nomination form and awards category information can be found at www.cobourg.ca/CivicAwards.
