Town of Cobourg Prepares for 2026 Municipal Election

Cobourg Votes information begins rolling out

Cobourg, ON (February 9, 2026) – The Town of Cobourg is reminding residents that 2026 is a Municipal Election year, and election-related information will be appearing in municipal buildings and facilities across the community.

The 2026 Municipal and School Board Election will take place on Monday, October 26, 2026, with the voting period opening on Friday, October 16, 2026. Voting in the municipality will be conducted online, making it easy and convenient for eligible voters to cast their ballot from anywhere.

To support voters who may need assistance, Voter Help Centres will be available during the voting period. Details on locations, hours, and available services will be shared closer to the election.

More detailed election information will be available on the Town’s official election website, CobourgVotes.ca, which launches at the end of March 2026. The site will include key dates, voting information, candidate details, and frequently asked questions.

“Exercising your right to vote is one of the most important ways residents can shape their community,” said Brent Larmer, Municipal Clerk for the Town of Cobourg. “We encourage residents to ensure they are on the Voters List, stay informed, and participate.”

Residents with questions about the municipal election are encouraged to contact the Town of Cobourg Clerk’s Office by email at CobourgVotes@cobourg.ca or by phone at 905-372-4301.
