Town of Cobourg Extends Nomination Period for 23rd Annual Civic Awards

Community members invited to nominate deserving volunteers

Cobourg, ON (November 7, 2025) – The Town of Cobourg’s Civic Awards Committee is now open for nominations for the 23rd Annual Civic Awards to recognize local residents who have helped benefit and promote the community through outstanding volunteerism, achievement and community involvement.

Residents are encouraged to nominate a deserving volunteer within the community.  The nomination form and awards category information can be found at www.cobourg.ca/CivicAwards.

There are two levels of Awards: The Major Awards for those who have volunteered for five years or more and have diverse volunteerism experience and the Distinguished Awards for those who have volunteered for a minimum of a year in the community. 

The Civic Awards will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, during National Volunteer Week in the Concert Hall at Victoria Hall at 7 p.m.

“Our volunteers give everything and expect nothing in return. Honouring them is a privilege. That is just one of the reasons that the Town of Cobourg takes pride in this program every year. To provide more time for residents to submit nominations, the Civic Awards Committee has extended the nomination period this year,” said Mayor Lucas Cleveland. “Please consider nominating a worthy volunteer.”

How to Nominate:

1. Review the awards categories and select the most appropriate category.
2. Complete the online nomination form.
3. Include all required information and supporting documentation by Friday, February 27, 2026.
