Notice of Public Meeting: Review and Update of the Town of Cobourg Zoning By-Law #85-2003

Cobourg, ON (July 9, 2025) – The Corporation of the Town of Cobourg has initiated a review and update of the Zoning By-Law (#85-2003) under Sections 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990 c.P. 13, as amended.

Town of Cobourg Council will hold a Public Meeting regarding the aforementioned on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at 5:00 pm in the Council Chambers, 3rd Floor East Wing, Victoria Hall, 55 King Street West, Cobourg in accordance with the provisions of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990 c.P. 13, as amended.

Zoning By-Law
Zoning by-laws are the rules that guide how land and buildings can be used. They help ensure that development happens in an orderly, safe, and sustainable way by setting standards for things like building height, setbacks, land use, and parking. A review and update of the Cobourg Zoning By-law has been undertaken and staff and Council welcome comments and feedback on these updates. Updating the zoning by-law ensures these rules reflect current needs, support future planning, and help build a livable, inclusive, and resilient community.

Meeting Agenda and Draft By-Law:
The meeting agenda will be posted on Monday, July 14, 2025. The Draft Zoning By-law will be attached to the meeting agenda for public review prior to the meeting.

Public Meeting:
In-person public meetings will be convening in the 3rd Floor Council Chambers, Victoria Hall, 55 King Street West, Cobourg or if you wish to participate via Zoom Video Conference, please register with Brent Larmer, Municipal Clerk, via e-mail at clerk@cobourg.ca or by phone at (905) 372-4301 no later than 12:00 pm the day of the public meeting. If you have limited access to technology or do not wish to participate via electronic platform, you may use a telephone and call in to participate. Alternatively, written submissions to the Municipal Clerk, 55 King Street West, Cobourg, Ontario, K9A 2M2 in advance of the Public Meeting is encouraged and will be made available to any interested person at the Meeting.
