Family Day Municipal Closures and Local Events
Cobourg, ON (February 11, 2026) – The Town of Cobourg would like to advise residents of municipal closures and local activities being planned for this weekend due to the Family Day holiday on Monday, February 16.
Municipal Closures on Monday, February 16, 2026 (Family Day), include:
- Victoria Hall (55 King Street West): Building is open from 12-4 p.m. All municipal offices are closed.
- Victoria Hall Box Office: Closed for in-person ticket purchases. Tickets are available online at ExperienceCobourg.ca.
- Venture13 Innovation & Entrepreneurship Centre (739 D’Arcy Street)
- Building 7 Public Works will be closed, however on-call staff can be reached for emergencies by calling the after-hours number: 905-372-9971.
- Cobourg Public Library (200 Ontario Street)
Cobourg Transit will be running on its regular schedule on Monday, February 16.
The Cobourg Community Centre will be open during its regular hours on Monday, February 16, but please note there will not be any Seniors programming running this day.

Galentine’s Day – Downtown Shops Open until 8 p.m.
Downtown Cobourg on King St. | Thursday, February 12
Residents and visitors are invited to experience a special evening in the heart of Cobourg’s downtown, celebrating love in all its forms with extended shopping hours until 8 p.m.

Palentine’s Painting Party

Visit Crock A Doodle for a fun, feel-good Palentine’s Paint Night, where you and your favourite pals can unwind, laugh, and create fabulous pottery pieces together.

Lock in the Love

Inspired by a tradition seen around the world, couples may stroll to along the creek to Love
Locks Cobourg to lock-in a padlock as a symbol of love, hope, and connection. This meaningful activity can be enjoyed at any time throughout the day in one of Cobourg’s most scenic spots.
Free Family Fishing
Ontario Family Fishing Events is a province-wide opportunity for Canadian residents to fish Ontario waters without the otherwise mandatory fishing license. The Ontario Government has designated four periods throughout the year as license-free Family Fishing, and Family Day Weekend fishing will run from February 14-16, 2026. Family Day Fun Day
Cobourg Lions Community Centre (157 Elgin Street) | Saturday, February 14 from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Lions Club of Cobourg welcomes everyone to a free community celebration, featuring activities for all ages, including balloon art, a bouncy castle, face painting, games, prizes and more. Food and refreshments will be available. While admission is free, attendees are encouraged to consider bringing a donation in support of the local food bank.
Movies and Teddy Maker Mobile
Rainbow Cinemas (Northumberland Mall) | Saturday, February 14
The Teddy Maker Mobile will be visiting for a special Valentine’s Day-themed experience, offering a two-person Magic Combo that includes two movie tickets, two medium drinks, one medium popcorn and a stuffed animal of your choice for $60. This activity will be available throughout all scheduled shows during the day. Please note that payment is cash only.
Les AMIS Concert
Trinity United Church (284 Division Street) | Sunday, February 15 at 3 p.m.
Les AMIS is delighted to have Violinist Lynn Kuo, Assistant Concertmaster of the National Ballet of Canada, and Acclaimed Pianist Alexander Panizza, back for another exciting performance. The performance will showcase a diverse program of classical works, including pieces by Canadian composer Elizabeth Raum, Moldovan composer Ghenadie Ciobanu, and Sergei Prokofiev.

Family Day Festival at FBC Church
Cobourg FBC Church (469 Elgin Street) | Monday, February 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Residents are invited to attend a Family Day celebration, featuring Olympic-themed indoor and outdoor activities for all ages. The event will include tobogganing with a Cobourg Police officer, horse-drawn carriage rides, a Winter Olympics watch party, an inflatable obstacle course, campfires with s’mores, face painting, indoor activities, crafts, games, complimentary lunch and snacks and more! Family Day in Cobourg
Rotary Harbourfront Park (110 Second Street) | Monday, February 16 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Celebrate Family Day with Experience Cobourg for a fun-filled day of winter activities and community entertainment.
The event will feature live demonstrations from a chainsaw wood carver, performances by the Port Hope Figure Skating Club, high-energy Zumba sessions, and musical entertainment from VOS Productions. Attendees can also meet Sparky and members of the Cobourg Fire Department, enjoy music from a live DJ, and visit local vendors on site.
Family-friendly activities will include skating and a nature scavenger hunt. Food will be available by donation to the local food bank, courtesy of the Lions Club of Cobourg.
To kick off the festivities, families are also invited to a free screening of Despicable Me 4 at 10 a.m. at Rainbow Cinemas Cobourg (located in the Northumberland Mall).

Family Day Activities at the AGN

Join the AGN for their Family Day program, featuring hands-on artmaking experiences inspired by current exhibitions, including family portrait drawing, a collaborative yarn art project, a Lunar New Year-themed art activity, and a winter activity guide to explore the gallery. West Northumberland Curling Club’s Watch It, Try It, Love It!
