Engage Cobourg Launches Parks and Recreation Master Plan Project
New Master Plan will provide direction on Cobourg’s parks, recreation and sport facilities, open spaces, and service delivery over the next 10 years
Cobourg, ON (October 21, 2025) – The Town of Cobourg is inviting all community members to participate in the Parks and Recreation Master Plan project page on EngageCobourg.ca.
To help develop this important plan, the Town has partnered with thinc design, a Toronto-based landscape architecture and planning firm. The Parks and Recreation Master Plan will guide the planning, development, management, and enhancement of Cobourg’s parks, trails, recreation facilities, and programs over the next 10 years—through to 2036.
Community feedback is a key part of this process. On EngageCobourg.ca, residents can share their ideas and experiences through a variety of interactive tools, including a Quick Poll, Visioner Board, Social Map, and Online Survey. Participation is easy—no registration is required, and all responses are anonymous.
Through the survey, community members are encouraged to share feedback on topics such as:
- What parks, trails, open spaces, and facilities do you or your household like to use?
- What recreation programs, activities, and events do you and your household like to attend?
- What are your wishes for future recreation in Cobourg?
Phone Survey
In the coming weeks, 300 randomly selected households will receive a call from Oraclepoll Research to participate in a survey regarding use and enjoyment of parks and recreation spaces in Cobourg. Thank you in advance to those who take the time to participate in the phone survey.
Community Workshop
All community members are invited to attend a drop-in Community Workshop on Thursday, October 30, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Cobourg Community Centre (750 D'Arcy Street).
There will be panels on display throughout the room focusing on different areas of the Parks and Recreation Master Plan. Town staff and the consultants will be onsite to chat with attendees. Bring the kids for some active games and Halloween activities.
Share Your Thoughts
The public engagement survey and additional feedback tools are open until Monday, November 10, 2025.
Paper copies of the survey are also available at the Customer Service Desk in Victoria Hall and at the reception desk at the Cobourg Community Centre.
