Community Invited to Cobourg Holiday Events

Cobourg, ON (December 18, 2025) – The Town of Cobourg is pleased to announce a series of festive events to celebrate the holiday season and welcome the New Year.

Pictures with Santa
Join Experience Cobourg for the final Saturday of Pictures with Santa: a free holiday event for all ages happening in the heart of downtown Cobourg.

Santa will be welcoming visitors for photos just inside Victoria Hall’s Courtroom doors. Victoria Hall is beautifully decorated with lights and seasonal décor. After your visit with Santa, take some time to stroll through downtown, where you can enjoy the festive shop windows, pick up a few gifts, and warm up with a cup of hot chocolate or coffee from one of our local cafés. Parking downtown is free for two hours until January 1, 2026.

Mayor and Council’s Community Skate
Bring your family and friends for a free community skate with Mayor Lucas Cleveland and members of Council. Donation bins will be available for those who wish to contribute non-perishable food items to the Northumberland Fare Share Food Bank.

First Night Cobourg 2026
Celebrate New Year’s Eve with Cobourg’s First Night – an evening filled with music, seasonal magic, and community spirit. Enjoy an early countdown and stunning fireworks display to ring in the New Year. Bundle up, bring your friends, and help us count down to 2026!

Time: 6 to 9 p.m.
Location: Rotary Harbourfront Park, 35 Albert Street

Event Highlights:

• Outdoor Skating: Glide across our enchanting outdoor rink (weather permitting) with music by a live DJ.
• Horse and Wagon Rides: Take a magical ride through Cobourg’s scenic streets.
• Dazzling Fireworks Over the Harbour: Marvel at the spectacular fireworks display lighting up the night sky in celebration of the New Year. Fireworks will begin at 9 p.m.
  

Lion's Club New Year's Eve 2026
Get ready to ring in 2026 at the Cobourg Lions Centre with dinner and the rockin' sounds of Coup De Ville. If you love classic rock, this event has you covered with all your favourite hits.

Time: Doors open at 6 p.m., show at 8 p.m.
Location: Cobourg Lions Centre, 157 Elgin St East

Enjoy dinner, live music and dance the night away to welcome the new year! Tickets for the dinner and dance are $30 plus service fee and are available at the Experience Cobourg Box Office at cobourgboxoffice.ca. Doors open at 6 p.m.

Mayor and Council’s New Year’s Levee
Join Mayor Lucas Cleveland and Cobourg Council for the traditional ringing in of the New Year! Bring the whole family for an afternoon of fun and celebration.

Time: 2 to 4 p.m.
Location: Victoria Hall, Concert Hall, 55 King Street West, Cobourg

Event Highlights:

• Celebrate with performances by the Concert Band of Cobourg and the Wednesday Primary Choir.
• Enjoy hors d'oeuvres, treats, and refreshments.
• The Cobourg Public Library will be hosting a table with a gift basket giveaway and craft activities.
• Snap a picture with fun props at our photobooth
• Bring the kids for face painting and a balloon artist 

Christmas Magic Lights
Enjoy the stunning Christmas Magic light displays in Victoria Park, the bandshell, and Rotary Harbourfront Park.
