Second Hand Goods
You will need a Second Hand Goods Licence if your business involves:
- Buying, selling, taking in trade, procuring, offering for sale or accepting in pawn second hand property
- Operating a second hand goods dealer's premises
- Travelling from place to place to sell second hand goods, as a Second Hand Goods dealer

How do I get a Second Hand Goods Licence?
- Fill in the Second Hand Goods Application
- Submit the completed Application and Licence Fee to the Licensing Officer, Legislative Services Department in Victoria Hall.

First Time New $500
Renewal $50
Licences are valid from date of issue until December 31 of that year.
You will need to renew the Licence every calendar year.

You can ask to see their Licence.
Do Residential Garage Sales or Yard Sales require a Second Hand Goods Licence?
No Licence is required provided that the sale is less than two days and no more than two sales are conducted from the same residence in one calendar year.
