Senior executive members of Venture13’s founding partner organizations offer a variety of business experience, organizational direction and valuable support to the development of innovation within the Eastern Region and the centre itself.
Founding Organizations
Cobourg Police Services operates its Business Services Unit from the 2nd floor of the building. This Police Services’ venture has grown since its inception and has its own dedicated space at Venture13.
Nventure operates as a non-profit corporation and is primarily funded by the Government of Canada. Its purpose is:
- to advance economies through innovation and entrepreneurship
- to enable the success of businesses, industries and communities and
- to provide organizations with funding, financing and strategy services.
Nventure’s initiatives and funds typically range from $1 to $10 million and impact hundreds of start-ups and SMEs.
Town of Cobourg’s Economic Development Department includes the Venture13 Client Services Office. This department markets Cobourg’s strengths and assets to existing and prospective businesses. In addition, the department offers programming that addresses business challenges and opportunities that can drive future economic growth.
Key Industry User
Northumberland Manufacturers Association is a non-profit organization that promotes continuous improvement, innovation and high performance within the manufacturing sector for the benefit of its members. This mandate is achieved through networking, education and advocacy initiatives.
Policetech Accelerator
The V13 Policetech Accelerator is a joint initiative of the Cobourg Police Service and Nventure committed to excellence in policing operations and leadership in community safety innovation. From our headquarters at Venture13 (also home of the CPS national business centre) we offer competitively selected researchers, entrepreneurs and innovators the opportunity to validate new approaches to twenty-first century policing in a controlled and defined small-town, pilot-scale environment.
