MakerLab
The MakerLab at Venture13 is an 800 sq ft. mechatronics lab leveraged for Prototyping and engineering with advanced equipment to support. Currently two principal users leverage the space:
Northumberland Maker’s (non-profit DIY/STEAM education)
Established in 2015, Northumberland Makers is a community of creators, innovators and makers with a goal of improving equity of access to tools, technology and education within Northumberland County and are based out of Venture13 offering:
- DIY and STEM educational opportunities for all ages
- Youth Tech Clubs and weekend workshops
- Robotics and Electronics Workshops for all ages
- Full Slate of Summer and Holiday Maker Camps
- Member of V13 Board of Partners

Microfactory Co-operative (alliance of hardware entrepreneurs)
Canada’s first for-profit producers’ co-operative made up of early-stage hardware technology startups, The Microfactory Co-operative is dedicated to providing small-scale custom manufacturing, rapid prototyping and design services for entrepreneurs and innovators. The co-operative, based out of Venture13 provides a structure for startups by leveraging collective talent, sharing resources and advanced equipment in order to help bring concepts to reality.
