Emergency Preparedness Week 2025
Cobourg, ON (May 5, 2025) – The Town of Cobourg is encouraging residents to learn more about how to prepare themselves and their family in honour of Emergency Preparedness Week.
Emergency Preparedness Week (EP Week) is a national awareness initiative coordinated by Public Safety Canada, in close collaboration with the provinces and territories and partners. This year, the theme is Be Prepared. Know Your Risks. EP Week encourages Canadians to take steps to become better prepared to face a range of emergencies including:
- Know the risks - Although the consequences of disasters can be similar, knowing the risks specific to our community and our region can help you better prepare.
- Make a plan - It will help you and your family know what to do.
- Get an emergency kit - During an emergency, we will all need some basic supplies. Residents may need to get by without power or tap water. Be prepared to be self-sufficient for at least 72 hours in an emergency.
Community Education Initiatives:
The Town of Cobourg Emergency Planner is taking this opportunity to provide education to residents so they can better prepare themselves and their family for an emergency.
