The VentureKids TECHimmersivE program is full. Stay tuned for our next registration dates!

VentureKids TECHimmersivE is a free program that supports young people from Northumberland who have vocational aspirations in technology or entrepreneurship. With the support of VentureKids Canada and powered by Northeastern University Toronto and Venture13, youth will travel to Toronto (all expenses paid) over three days in the summer of 2019 to visit the corporate headquarters of major tech companies like Microsoft Canada and LinkedIn, meet with business leaders, and take part in on-site, hands-on experiential learning. 

We provide:

  • Transportation
  • Breakfast/lunch/snacks
  • Facilitators
  • Experiential learning/workshops
  • Special edition VentureKids TECHimmersivE t-shirts

VentureKids TECHimmersive Summer 2019

What a great summer! Youth from Northumberland County travelled into Toronto to meet with Microsoft, LinkedIn, the U.S. Consulate, Google and more in this amazing program powered by Venture Kids Canada, Northeastern University and Venture13.

Participant Eligibility

Participants will be:

  • 15-19 years of age
  • A resident of Northumberland County
  • Interested in technology or entrepreneurship
  • Must apply to the program by May 30, 2019 deadline 

Selection will be competitive and reflect a commitment to inclusion, diversity and financial need. Interested participants can apply through community nomination forms or self nomination. All applicants must agree to attend all three summer sessions in order to be selected.

Key Dates
  • Program orientation and pizza lunch June 15
  • Toronto Session 1 - June 28, 2019
  • Toronto Session 2 - July 26, 2019
  • Toronto Session 3 - August 23, 2019
  • Community organizations may nominate youth for participation in VentureKids TECHimmersivE by completing and submitting the nomination form below
  • Community organizations may nominate up to five youth (multiple nomination forms may be submitted)
  • The deadline for nominations is May 31, 2019. Nominations received after May 24, 2019 will be put on a waiting list for future consideration
  • Nominees may be contacted for an interview
  • Selections will be made by no later than June 7, 2019
  • Selection will be competitive and reflect a commitment to inclusion, diversity and financial need
