RogersTM Hometown HockeyTM Tour presented by Scotiabank and Hyundai is heading to Cobourg, ON on January 4 and 5 to celebrate more of the game that brings us together. Hosts Ron MacLean and Tara Slone will be on site for the festivities, which include meet-and-greet opportunities with NHL alumni Shayne Corson and Darcy Tucker, live local entertainment, and the live Sportsnet NHL broadcast.
Other special guests expected to be in attendance include NHL alumni and Cobourg natives Gord Brooks and Steve Smith, iconic Sportsnet broadcaster Jim Hughson, and NHL on Sportsnet Analyst Chris Johnston.
The two-day hockey festival begins on Saturday, January 4 at Noon ET at Cobourg West Harbour, 103 Third Street, and will conclude on Sunday evening following the Rogers Hometown Hockey outdoor viewing party. The evening’s broadcast gets underway with a special pre-game show hosted by MacLean and Slone live from the Sportsnet Mobile Studio beginning at 6:30 p.m. ET, followed by a showdown between the Calgary Flames and Minnesota Wild, on Sportsnet, Sportsnet NOW and NHL LIVE.

The Town of Cobourg and Rogers Hometown Hockey are pleased to confirm the following NHL Alumni and special guests will be present during the festival weekend:
Darcy Tucker A Canadian former professional ice hockey player who played most of his National Hockey League career with the Toronto Maple Leafs. A sixth round draft choice, Tucker began his NHL career with the Montreal Canadiens.
Shayne Corson A Canadian former professional hockey player who played in the National Hockey League for the Montreal Canadiens, Edmonton Oilers, St. Louis Blues, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Dallas Stars.
Cobourg’s NHL Alumni and Special Guests include:
Gord Brooks Gordon John "Gord" Brooks is a Canadian former professional ice hockey right winger who played parts of three seasons in the National Hockey League for the St. Louis Blues and Washington Capitals. Cobourg’s first citizen to play in the NHL!
Steve Smith A Canadian retired professional ice hockey defenceman and current assistant coach of the Buffalo Sabres He played in the National Hockey League from 1984–85 to 2000–01.

Jim Hughson Jim Hughson is a Canadian sportscaster, best known for his play-by-play of National Hockey League and Toronto Blue Jays baseball games. Since 2008, he has been the lead play-by-play announcer for Hockey Night in Canada.
Chris Johnston Chris Johnston is in his 14th season covering the NHL and fifth for Sportsnet. His career began with The Canadian Press and has covered 10 Stanley Cup finals and two Olympics. He is a frequent contributor to Sportsnet's TV and radio platforms and a regular guest on the "Puck Talks" speaking series.
NHL Authors:
Stewart Richardson was raised in Hastings and is well acquainted with the Trent Valley Region. Stewart is a member of the Hastings Historical Society as well as SIHR (Society for International Hockey Research). His previous book Dit Clapper and the Rise of the Boston Bruins was published in 2012. Ice and Thunder: A History of the Trent Valley Hockey League.
Todd Denault is the 2017 recipient of the Brian McFarlane Award as given by the Society for International Hockey Research in recognition for outstanding research and writing. He is the author of four books. Jacques Plante: The Man Who Changed the Face of Hockey (McClelland & Stewart, 2009) is the first full-length biography of one of the most important hockey players in history. His second book, The Greatest Game: The Montreal Canadiens, the Red Army, and the Night That Saved Hockey (McClelland & Stewart, 2010), has been widely praised both by literary critics and the general public. His third book, A Season in Time: Super Mario, Killer, St. Patrick, the Great One and the Unforgettable 1992-93 NHL Season (John Wiley & Sons, 2012), features exclusive interviews with Wayne Gretzky, Patrick Roy, and over 100 other players, coaches, executives, and media members and was a widely acclaimed, Canadian bestseller. His fourth book, 50 in 39: Wayne Gretzky & the Story of Hockey’s Greatest Record (Fenn/M&S, 2016), was co-authored with former Rogers Sportsnet television personality and Hockey News editor Mike Brophy. Todd resides in Cobourg, Ontario. |

Johnny O' Sports Hockey Auction | |||||||||||||||
In partnership with John Ovens from Johnny O' Sports, the Town of Cobourg is hosting a silent auction featuring NHL memorabilia. All proceeds will be donated to the Grace Bowen Tribute Fund in support of the SickKids Foundation. The auction items will be available to view and bid during the Mayor's Levee on January 1st at Victoria Hall, and at the Cobourg Community Centre on January 3rd and 4th, 2019. Bid increments of $10 is set for all items.

The shuttles buses will be available on Saturday, January 4th from 11:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m., and on Sunday, January 5th from 11:30 a.m. until 11:00 p.m.
Downtown parking lots north of Albert Street will be enforced between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., including weekends and holidays. With the Honk app, you can seamlessly search, pay for and top up parking from any smartphone. Coin operated parking meters and Pay and Display machines will remain available. HonkMobile is available in addition to the existing payment options. There is on-street parking available in the neighbourhoods surrounding the site. We ask that you respect property owners.
