Under the direction of the Government of Ontario and the approval of Municipal Council, the Town of Cobourg will be safely and gradually re-opening the Cobourg Community Centre under new COVID-19 operating procedures beginning Monday, August 31st, 2020. Read the full press release.

Temporarily closed for four months due to COVID-19, the community centre will reopen with updated health and safety measures based on discussions with Parks and Recreation Ontario, other Ontario municipalities, the Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit, the Emergency Control Group and local community groups. These measures include hand sanitizer stations, spaces to allow physical distancing of at least two-metres (6 feet), plexiglass barriers, and enhanced facility cleaning of high-touch surface areas.

Safe Reopening Guidelines

Here's how we are keeping you safe at the Cobourg Community Centre...

1. COVID-19 Pre-Screening Form

All participants are required to complete the COVID-19 Pre-Screening Form must be complete the same day as scheduled program or rental.

2. Entrance Procedure

New requirements have been set in place upon entering and exiting the facility including self-screening and a check-in desk equipped with a hand sanitization station. Please wear a face mask or non-medical face covering when entering the community centre.

3. Controlled Facility Access

The community centre will be operating under controlled access including designated entrance and exits based on the location of the rental and/or program. All individuals entering the facility must only do so 15-minutes prior to a rental and/or program and exit 15-minutes following the end of a rental and/or program. Spectators and the general public will not be allowed.

4. Enhanced Health & Safety Measures

These measures include hand sanitizer stations, spaces to allow physical distancing of at least two-metres (6 feet), plexiglass barriers, and enhanced facility cleaning of high-touch surface areas.

Reopening Schedule

Beginning August 31st the Cobourg Community Centre will be resuming programming* at the seniors, adult and ice level in a phased reopening that will include the following:

Phase 1: August 31 to September 13, 2020

MAXIMUM CAPACITY = 100

Bowl Arena - 50 participant capacity.

Gymnasiums - 50 participant capacity.


Remaining Closed:

  • Pond Arena
  • Rental Rooms
  • Food and Beverage Services
  • Spectators
Phase 2: September 14 to 30, 2020

MAXIMUM CAPACITY = 200

Bowl Arena - 50 participant capacity.

Pond Arena - 50 participant capacity.

Gymnasiums - 50 participant capacity.

Rental Rooms - 50 participant capacity.


Remaining Closed:

  • Food and Beverage Services
  • Spectators
Phase 3: October 1, 2020 and onward

MAXIMUM CAPACITY = 300

Bowl Arena - 50 participant capacity + 50 spectator capacity.

Pond Arena - 50 participant capacity + 50 spectator capacity.

Gymnasiums - 50 participant capacity.

Rental Rooms - 50 participant capacity.

Food and beverage services reopen.

*The dates and specific operations of each phase will be subject to change by staff based on operational refinements and staffing.

Before you visit:

  • Register for a program or book your facility rental by calling (905)-372-7371.
  • Complete our online COVID-19 Pre-Screening Form on the day of your visit.
  • Take our self-assessment.
  • Safety measures have been put in place to ensure that all community members and staff are able to visit and work in a safe environment. Please review these before your visit.
  • Do not bring any spectators.

 

 

During your visit:

  • Enter and exit facilities through the designated entrance and exit based on the program and/or rental.
  • Arrive no more than 15 minutes before your program/rental, and depart no more than 15 minutes following your program/rental. No loitering.
  • Wear your non-medical mask or face-covering when in the facility with the exception of when you are actively engaging in fitness activities. Masks must be worn when moving through all common areas.
  • Practice physical distancing, expect with those in your social circle.
  • Wash your hands frequently or use hand sanitizer.
  • Sneeze or cough into a tissue or your elbow.
  • Check-in when you arrive and check-out when you leave.

 

Pre-Register

Seniors Drop-In Programs

All participants MUST be pre-registered for 'drop in programs' and MUST be current members.

When you arrive at the CCC you will be required to have your Membership tag ready to be scanned in order to pay for your visit. If you need to buy more passes, please ensure you have your debit or credit card ready as we are not accepting cash at this time.

Spaces are limited in each program and we will offer pre-registration on a weekly basis.  

 

Walking Track

We will also have Walking/Running Track Registration available for the general public (no membership required) however, all parties must create an account in order to access the registration options. Please note, you may register for one hour at a time with limited spaces available.
