Regular Transit Hours Resume on Thursday, March 4, 2021

The Town of Cobourg would like to advise residents that effective Thursday, March 4, 2021 transit will resume regular service hours.

Conventional Transit Hours (Route 1 and Route 2) will operate during the following hours:

  • Monday to Friday: 6:15 a.m. to 7:45 p.m.
  • Saturday: 8:15 a.m. to 6:45 p.m.
  • Sunday: 8:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.

WHEELS Transit Hours:

  • Monday to Friday – 6:15 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
  • Saturday – 8:15 a.m. to 6:45 p.m.
  • Sunday – 8:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.

Fares
Exact cash fare: $2.00
Transit tickets will be honoured. New sales of transit tickets will be eliminated.

**Monthly passes purchased in February or March of 2020 will be valid until February 28, 2021.

COVID-19 Safety Protocol Reminder
Transit riders are reminded that non-medical masks or face coverings are mandatory on all buses and at transit shelters to reduce the risk of spread of COVID-19. All riders are also reminded that the use of public transit should be used for essential trip purposes only.

Exact cash fare: $2.00
*NOTE: Monthly passes purchased in February or March of 2020 will be valid until February 28, 2021.

Town of Cobourg Public Transit
Cobourg Transit is a fully accessible service that has two fixed routes (Route 1 & Route 2). Both routes are completed in 1 hour loops. Cobourg Transit also offers an origin to destination service called WHEELS for eligible riders who cannot use conventional transit.

 Express Shuttle (Port Hope to Cobourg)

The Port Hope-Cobourg Express Shuttle makes trips to Cobourg twice per hour.

This web mapping application will provide users with real time updates on the geographic location of the Town of Cobourg Transit Buses Routes 1 & 2.  The app updates are every :12 seconds in real-time.

The application can be accessed on a computer, tablet or smart phone. Because the application is web-based there is no need to download or purchase it from an app store, simply access the website using your web browser.

Become a WHEELS Member

Cobourg Transit offers an origin to destination service called WHEELS for eligible riders who cannot use conventional transit. There is an application process for becoming a Wheels member (see below).  For more information about becoming a member of WHEELS, please call the Engineering Department at 905-372-4555.

To book an appointment with WHEELS, please call Century Transportation at 905-373-0582 during the following business hours:

  • Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

All bookings are required to be made or cancelled 24 hours in advance. Same day bookings may be accommodated if available. Bookings are made on a first come basis and subscriptions can be requested for trips occurring more than twice a week to the same location and at the same time.

COVID-19 - Public Transit is resuming fare collection as of Tuesday, January 26.

Transit Hours Reduced Due to Stay-At-Home-Order Effective January 26, 2021

(Issued January 15, 2021 at 8:45 a.m. EST) – The Town of Cobourg would like to advise residents that effective Tuesday, January 26, 2021 transit will operate at reduced hours until the Provincial ‘Stay-at-Home-Order’ and Declaration of State of Emergency has been lifted.

During the Special Emergency Council meeting on January 13, 2021 Council passed a motion to maintain existing operating hours for Conventional Transit and reduce operating hours for WHEELS beginning January 26, 2021.

Conventional Transit Hours (Route 1 and Route 2) will continue to operate during the following hours:

  • Monday to Friday: 7:15 a.m. to 5:45 p.m.
  • Saturday: 8:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.
  • Sunday: No Service

WHEELS Transit Hours:

  • Monday to Friday – 6:15 a.m. to 5:45 p.m.
  • Saturday – 8:15 a.m. to 6:45 p.m.
