Cobourg enjoys a diverse industrial base, manufacturing a wide variety of products from airport communication towers to foil laminated paper products. Companies such as Belden Canada Inc. and Lakeland Multi-Trade have called Cobourg their home for over 40 years.
As you can see in the graph depicted below, the plastics sector is the highest employer in Cobourg, many of whom work at Horizon’s Plastics. Cobourg has a long history in food manufacturing, presently our second largest sector. Some of these industries include Weetabix of Canada Ltd., Sprucewood Handmade Cookies Co and our newest industry Canada Candy. These food industries manufacture such products as cereal, candy and cookies.
