Northumberland, ON (November 9, 2020): ‘What makes us so successful is our ability to share – resources, leadership, people, equipment - and with this new online tool, we’ve taken our ability to communicate and share as an association to the next level!’ states Darla Price, NMA Managing Director. Over the past year the NMA has worked with associate NMA member KLAR Solutions, to build an online platform where manufacturers can chat directly to each other, ask questions, and stay ahead of industry trends.
“KLAR Solutions was instrumental to the build of this site and we cannot thank them enough for their expertise, support and all around dedication to our project, says Alain Levac, NMA Board of Director.
The most exciting feature of the forum is the Post a Question. Within the forum, manufacturers can post a question – for example: I am in need of a floor scale that can weigh a ton – need for 3 days – does anyone have one we can borrow? Or – who has a policy they can share on – returning back to work? Once the question is posted, registered manufacturers receive a notification telling them there has been a question posted. Manufacturers can directly reply via email or chat.
Fred Kossiem, NMA President says ‘The forum brings many benefits to manufacturers - the biggest being convenience – sharing resources – saves us time and money, and to receive direct communication on trends in training, funding and education – it’s our manufacturing community wrapped up into one great space’.
The Forum allows manufacturers the ability to communicate with like-minded individuals, companies, leadership and support systems not usually available so easily.
‘We can even say – this online tool will engage our youth in manufacturing careers – giving them a technical tool to engage themselves fully into the industry’ shared Miranda Patrick,
NMA Board of Director. ‘While the current model is for NMA members only, there are plans in the future of opening the forum to all manufacturers across Ontario, then hey –‘ maybe all of Canada – the sky is the limit’ laughs Ms. Price.
