On October 25, 2019, Canadian Immigration and Citizenship held a presentation of Canadian Citizenship Certificates for 38 new citizens at Victoria Hall. Mayor John Henderson joined the presenting platform with Judge Rodney Simmons, Clerk Lorenza St Martin, Warden Bob Crate of Northumberland County and former MP Paul Macklin. The candidates took the Oath of Citizenship, received their official certificates and joined together with The Band of Her Majesty’s Royal Marines Association Ontario to sing “O Canada” for the first time as Canadian citizens.
We began the ceremony with 38 individuals from 27 different countries, and we ended the morning with 38 individuals from one country. Welcome to your new Canadian family!
