(Issued February 14, 2020 at 9 a.m. EST) – The Town of Cobourg would like to inform residents of the warming centres across the community for those seeking relief from the cold temperatures. Risks are greater for young children, older adults, people with chronic illnesses, people working or exercising outdoors and those without proper shelter.
The Town of Cobourg has identified the following public places as warming centres:
- Victoria Hall Foyer (55 King Street West)
Open Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Closed weekends.
- Cobourg Community Centre (750 D’Arcy Street)
Open Monday to Thursday 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Closed on long weekends.
- Northumberland Mall (1111 Elgin Street West)
Open Monday to Friday 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Cobourg Police Station – Comfort Centre (107 King Street West)
Open Monday to Sunday 24/7.
- Cobourg Public Library (200 Ontario Street)
Open Monday to Wednesday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday to Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
