(Issued July 14, 2020 at 1:45 p.m. EST) – Cobourg Transit is strongly recommending wearing non-medical masks or face coverings while riding both the Conventional and WHEELS public transit buses.
Effective July 13, 2020, all commercial establishments and businesses currently operating have been instructed by the Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health Unit’s local Medical Officer of Health that non-medical masks or face coverings must be worn inside the premises at all times.
“By wearing a non-medical mask or face covering, passengers can help protect the health and safety of the drivers and other passengers while reducing the likelihood of unknowingly spreading the COVID-19 virus,” said Laurie Wills, Director of Public Works for the Town of Cobourg.
Those exempt from this recommendation may include:
All transit riders will also notice that numerous seats have been closed to encourage physical distancing while riding the bus. The Town of Cobourg thanks you for your patience and cooperation as we continue to protect our community.
