(Cobourg, ON) December 4, 2018 – The VentureZone Inn, Venture13’s new co-working space designed for telecommuters and independent consultants, will be opening its doors in January and is a first-of-its-kind in Northumberland County.
The concept was brought forward by the Venture13 Marketing and Communications Committee in response to membership requests and as a way to expand the service offerings of the innovation and entrepreneurship centre. Located within the VentureZone, a flexible work and accelerator space delivered by the Northumberland Community Futures Development Corporation (CFDC). The ‘VentureZone Inn’, with a name inspired from our leading pillar of ‘INNovation’ will provide an all-inclusive co-working space designed to offer the telecommuter community a hot seat for those who prefer not to work from home, and/or want to avoid a stressful drive or long train commute.
“We are pleased to be expanding our community of entrepreneurs to the working professionals of our newly created VentureZone Inn,” says Wendy Curtis, Executive Director of the Northumberland Community Futures Development Corporation. “Digital technology continues to advance allowing workers to be more mobile and flexible, providing employers the opportunity to offer remote work policies and solutions. At Venture13 we want to capitalize on this by giving our entrepreneurial community access to yet another cohort for collaboration, idea sharing and diversification. As a whole this will ultimately strengthen our innovation ecosystem that we are leading here at Venture13.”
Today’s announcement of the VentureZone Inn is intended to strengthen Venture13’s offerings to Eastern Ontario and the Northumberland County community at-large, creating a bridge for new collaborations between technology innovators and working professionals in Northumberland County, Toronto and beyond.
“Having this new service offering reinforces the mission behind Venture13,” says Stephen Peacock, Chief Administrative Officer for The Town of Cobourg. “Creating an intentional combined working space of both technology and entrepreneurial startups and a professional telecommuting workforce will create knowledge sharing collisions between varieties of change makers within Venture13.”
