New sitemap focused on service delivery in development
Cobourg, ON (January 18, 2023) – The Town of Cobourg’s Communications Department would like to advise residents that the Cobourg.ca website is undergoing changes to the sitemap and internal search function to better serve the community.
The current website was launched in 2016 and developed with multiple points of entry for municipal services. Over time, links between shared pages broke causing some out-of-date pages and near duplicates.
A new sitemap is in development based on service delivery, with single points of access, creating a more streamlined, user-friendly experience. Once implemented, webpages will be easier for members of the public to find and for staff members to maintain.
While the sitemap changes take place, the search tool located on the homepage will not be operational. The Town apologizes for the inconvenience over the next few weeks as these website changes are taking place.
If you experience issues while looking for information, feel free to ask for assistance by calling 905-372-4301 or emailing communications@cobourg.ca. Webpages may be accessed through existing menus on the site.
Once the website update is complete, the Communications Department will be launching a series of posts on the Town’s social media pages to introduce residents to the new sitemap and provide information on how to find important services and information.
