(Issued May 11, 2021 at 1:15 p.m. EST) – The Town of Cobourg’s Public Works Division would like to inform residents of another upcoming essential construction project that will begin on Monday, May 17, 2021.
Various Bridge and Culvert Rehabilitations, begins May 17
The Town of Cobourg would like to inform residents that rehabilitation of various bridges and culverts at six (6) various sites will begin on May 17, 2021. The sites are located at the following locations, with a brief description of works per location:
1. Park Street/Midtown Creek Bridge (Replace steel pedestrian railing)
2. Covert Street/Midtown Creek Bridge (Replace steel pedestrian railing)
3. Buck Street/Midtown Creek Bridge (Replace steel pedestrian railing)
4. University Avenue West/Midtown Creek Bridge located east of George Street (Repair storm
sewer outlet and surface deck repairs on University Avenue West)
5. Elgin Street East/Brook Creek Culvert located west of Workman Road (Stream bank protection, Steel Beam Guide Rail, paving)
6. Danforth Road/Midtown Creek Culvert located east of Parkview Hills Drive (Structural concrete repairs within existing structure)
Construction activities for the above sites will occur over a three (3) month period.
To ensure residents, the general public and workers are kept safe during the COVID-19 pandemic, the contractor will provide protective measures and a site-specific plan that will be followed throughout the duration of the project.
