Cobourg, ON (Issued May 24, 2017 at 3:15 p.m. EST) – The Town of Cobourg would like to advise all residents that the Harden St. Bridge will be closed to traffic due to construction starting May 31, 2017.
Rehabilitation work has commenced on the Harden St. Bridge. Rehabilitation work is being carried out on the bridge to correct structural deficiencies, including the expansion joints, barrier walls, guiderails, railings and deck soffit. Traffic is currently restricted to one lane until May 31, 2017 at which time the bridge will be closed to traffic for approximately eight weeks. Access to plazas on Harden St. will be for local traffic only.
During this time the Town of Cobourg Transit Route 2 will be detouring. The :20 stop located on Harden St. will be temporarily moved to William St., before the lights at Harden St. Other stops will not be effected, however, please note Route 2 may experience delays due to the extended detour route.
