(Issued Thursday, September 28, 2021 at 9 a.m. EST) – The Town of Cobourg’s Public Works Division would like to inform residents that Albert Street, at the intersection of Second Street, will be temporarily closed beginning today, Tuesday, September 28th until Thursday, September 30, 2021 at 2 p.m. for the painting and unveiling of the Indigenous ‘Seven Feathers’ Crosswalk.
The unveiling ceremony for the crosswalk will take place on the first National Day of Truth and Reconciliation, Thursday, September 30, 2021 at 12 noon with Mayor John Henderson and members of Council, Town staff and Chief Dave Mowat of Alderville First Nation.
We appreciate your patience and understanding, and we look forward to taking this important step towards reconciliation within our community while commemorating the legacy of residential schools in Canada.
