Cobourg, ON (December 24, 2022, 8:00pm) – The Town of Cobourg and Lakefront Utility Services Inc. (LUSI) would like to provide residents with a final update for the evening before imposed forced rest for crews.
Town of Cobourg Roads and Parks staff and Lakefront Utilities Inc. crews have been working around the clock to clear roads and restore power to all neighbourhoods. As of 8pm this evening, LUSI has reported that 99% of homes within Cobourg have had their power restored.
Power Update:
As of 8pm this evening, 99% of homes in Cobourg have had their power restored. Lakefront Utility Services Inc. would like to advise the remaining 1% of homes who are without power, that this is due to an issue on the property side. Those residents are advised to call an electrician to fully restore power to their homes.
Due to the successful restoration of power, the warming room at the Cobourg Community Centre is standing down. Those who require assistance may contact Emergency Services if they are in need.
Leave Roads Clear for Response Teams:
The Town of Cobourg would like to advise all residents that crews are still working to clear the roads of blowing snow and ice formation. Vehicles on the road during severe weather conditions pose danger to themselves as well as impede the ability of crews to complete this important work.
